Ah you and your best/worst lists. :-P

Best how? The one I like the most, the one that is the nicest looking, hardest to find, most expensive, most intricate, most cartoon accurate?

hehehe, yep you know it!
however you want to define "best"
and that is the fun part!

I'd have to go with Shockwave as I still don't have a mint one. He is cartoon accurate, makes cool noises, is a gun and is Megs' boy.

I remember he was quite huge and heavy!
pretty stiff to transform.

for me it would be Metroplex, even though as a kid I
drooled over scorponok....
but I wonder about sixshot, that beast mode he has
look really quite awesum-possum if you ask me!

Soundwave, best G1 TF of all.

Why have you chosen those particular ones, wympr? What's the common denominator?

imo, they are very popular and getting any of these
should satisfy any collector...

it's not the same as getting a G1 bumble bee you know?

I don't know; Blaster and Grimlock are pretty dull so I'd probably rule them out. Shockwave I can see as being the best, but I don't own him so I can't say for definite. I'd probably plump with Soundwave or Scorponok.

Metroplex is awesome, till you have one of the Fort. Maximus figures.

I lost all love for Metroplex on the day mine arrived.

Soundwave is damn nice, but who doesn't have one. With all the reissues added in, everyone owns one, so that disqualifies him for me. Same with Megs.

Hm, picking one from that list is hard, but... It's Soundwave. To me he's more iconic that either Megatron or Optimus. Why? He's an eighties' tape deck and he had an interesting storyline in the UK comics. Plus he has a number of tapes that make this bloke a mini army!

Pish posh.

If you want a true one man army, look no further than Sixshot.

And unlike most G1, he only has 2 parts that can actully be lost.

Hrm...

I'd have to go with Punch or maybe even Counterpunch. Those two are definately the best on that list.

Too hard a list, but I say Sixshot, he's badassery incarnate. Soundwave comes in at a close second.

I have a complete G1 Metroplex, and although cool, Scorponok has presense.

A much cooler charachter and toy.

That and, I need to scratch together $200 just to get one in serviceable condition and complete.

Oh, the humanity...

Dude, don't say, that he can hear you...

And Metroplex, Trypticon and Scorponok make excellent suburbs, ports and industrial districts, respectively.
In my old (re:bigger) apartment, I set this MegaCity up in the living room with all the baseformers I could think of: Brave Max, Metroplex, Trypticon, Scorponok, Omega Supreme, Optimus' trailer, Magnus' trailer, Powermaster Op's trailer, Countdown (the Micromaster rocket base), Star Convoy, Laser Op's trailer and more. Plus, a bunch of those Miromaster bases like the gas station and stuff. Took up the whole living room! Then my roommate came home and asked why I put the couch in the kitchen...

soundwave more iconic cause he is an 80s tape player?
awesome point of view!

sixshot does look fun as hell to transform, like a
puzzle toy...

interesting point about only 2 parts to loose...

character wise I totally agree!

toy wise.... well I own neither, so I don't know,
which is funner?

the slide on scorponok makes him look like a wet n wild
theme park or disneyland or something, to me that is a
good thing though!

I like Metroplex's face,
and his lil companions seem very cool and fun.

but so do Scorp's...

Metroplex has boobs.

And you can even stuff one of them.

I think Metroplex looks better, but Scorponok has better play value. Giant monstrous scorpion > rolling brick platform.

BTW, Bonger, what do you want for your Metroplex, now that he's the odd kid out?

And my answer to wmpyr's fabulous daily question is : Soundwave.

Cool.....I wish I have a megacity like yours, I only have a room for my toys..My toy room pictures...

Soundwave. Only because he's one of the more posable figures.
