How To Remove Recon Ironhide Stripes?

I've always loved my 2007 Ironhide because he was almost solid black. I can't seem to find that version any more. Just Recon Ironhide. I watched a review by Peaugh saying he thought it could just wipe off with alcohol.
Has anyone actually tried it, and can anyone suggest a safe way of doing so without damaging the underlying black?
Thanks in advance!

Well.. the figure hasn't exactly hit mass retail in North America... I'm pretty sure you'll get a lot of answers when that time comes.

I've successfully removed paint apps from Transformers figures with 91% isopropyl alcohol, which I bought from a local pharmacy for a few dollars.

Nail polish remover works well, too.

Nail polish remover is often acetone, and can potentially damage the plastic.
Rubbing alcohol has no effect on the plastic used in most transformers and can safely be used to remove paint. You can even soak hard to remove paint apps overnight and wipe them away with a lint free material (old t-shirts work well)
I customize a lot of TFs and I've done this many times with figs from alts to armada to TFA with no problems.

no not nail polish remover!!!!!! i had my first accident with it and it was with an extra leader prime fromROTF, i put almost all of his parts in it and the nail polish remover turned the plastic into jell, and made it unusable. so that was one prime i could not use. look for rubbing alcohol or paint remover from a hobby store, or, soap and water works as well.

Wow! Okay thanks guys for all the responses! I was most concerned about not ruining the black plastic under those silver stripes, so it looks like an alcohol swab is what I'll be doing. Once again thanks!
