A friend and I are considering purchasing the Henkei Strafe figure (repaint of Universe Cyclonus) but we are wondering if Hasbro will bring this figure state side? or maybe Hasbro will make a new mold for Strafe all together for TFU 3.0 line up?

I don't understand the praise for the figure. The Cyclonus mold looks absolutely nothing like Strafe. Hell, they didn't even bother to remold the head. If anything, it looks like shattered glass Cyclonus. If Takara repainted the Movie Barricade mold red, gave it a chrome grill and named it Lightspeed, would you buy it? It's essentially the same concept. This is another case of "This is (insert character here) because Takara/Hasbro says so".

I was a little upset when we first found out that this was going to be Strafe. To me, he looks nothing like him and the mock up with the colors didn't inspire. But having known the origins of why he looks the way he does in the Henkei story line, it works.

I don't know if this guy is for everyone though. I bought it because I absolutely looove the Cyclonus mold. One of my favorite dlx in the universe line. I also do not collect movie toys or animated, which both are currently out now. So for me, I needed a clssc/unvs fix. I have no regrets with this figure as he is still outstanding. Is he pricey? Probably, depending on your budget. Will we see this "character" stateside? IDK, but I doubt that he is on the priority list of characters though.

Hell, I thought we'd see Red Alert by now!!

Thanks for the heads up about this figure and just trying make a decision about Strafe if he would be worth it or not. And TFsource has him for $69.00 + shipping, which is a good deal right?

Precisely. Way, way too expensive for a recolor of Cyclonus. Pass go, keep the two hundred bucks.

Many will gripe about how that mold is useless as anyone other than Cyclonus, how it looks nothing like Strafe, and how it's far too expensive.

It's beautiful.

Totally worth it.

For me he was worth it. Mainly because I got him for a really good deal. $60 plus shipping off eBay. And I got WST Soundwave and some other stuff with him free. I also got my Henkei "Ghost of Starscream" from the same seller, but didn't get as good a deal or any freebies with him though.

As for the actual toy, if you want a Classics Strafe, he's not that. He's a red and white(almost Christmas-y color scheme if not for the orange) Cyclonus with a Golden Gun. He's an odd and quirky Transformer. I love him, but most don't.

As a TF I like how he looks. But I just can't justify the price for the prize. Not with all the other great TFs you could get out there.
