Has anyone else noticed that his grill and headlights look and feel like they want to move? The grill is on some kind of spring while the headlights look like they could pivot or twist....

Yes they are meant to move. But don't force it!
It's a part of his automorph gimick. When you lower the roof and windsheild piece against his back, push until it clicks. It should cause his head to come up and the lights will pop slightly behind the grill.
I love this figure.

I really like this figure too, although the arms seem a bit fragile.

It's the forearms, its an interesting idea, but definitely not solid like the upper arms, shoulders, legs, and torso.
Now someone tell me how they can call a rifle looking piece of equipment, held like a gun, a telescoping sword???

Jazz's forarms definately are a bit delicate, but it's hard to imagine how they could have designed something better... maybe if the hands/wrists were a little more substantial they'd fill the space between the two plates better. I'm still pleased regardless.
It's definately a gun, but I pose him using it as a sword... Like a gunsword.
Sixshot, I can only speak for a few of the Automorphs. I thought there was a thread though, where people talked about this, if not there should be.
Brawl has maybe the coolest automorph I've seen yet. Too bad his arms wont stay in place, he'd be a great figure. When you move his torso piece into place his head flips up and 2 pieces of tread move from under the piece to the top (where his shoulders would be). Trust me, its brilliant.
Ratchet's legs automorph. When you flip out his feet, the knee and inside of his 'calf' armour fold's out giving it more of a detailed shape.
Blackout's head flips out when you move his torso in place. I could never get this too work smoothly without forcefully assisting with my hands. I returned this one to wal-mart. I think I'll wait for a better version *HASBRO: please make me a Leader Class Blackout!*.
The only other movie figure I can speak for at this point is Barricade... He doesn't have an automorph. Just a terribly inarticulate Frenzy, and a rediculous punching gimmick I will never use. The rest of this toy is alright.

I think this figure sucks, his arms are atrocious.

When you push the roof to his back the lighst go behind the grill. I think this figure is great. Other than the crapy arms. I use the gun as a gunblade. a gun when foldedm a sword when extended. I also found out that you can store the gun on the wheel like the sheild to make an arm cannon and that the gun goes on the shield as weapon storage. When the sheild is on his shoulder you can put the gun in the notch where it would connect to his back.

Ironhide has an awesome automorph. It's oddly complex, but basically you move a piece on his lower leg, and the whole thing folds into shape.
Leader Prime has two. The first is the obvious one on the chest which lowers the head and brings the truck windshields together, and also activates lights and sounds when you transform him to robot mode. Also his feet have a panel which you slide and turn that unfolds his 'toes'.
Starscream's chest will expand when you slide the cockpit up.

Speaking of automorph, I'm one of those who transforms without directions, at least the first time. I'm worried I'll try to move pieces that should not be moved until a certain thing is done. So far so good, but yeah, I just hope I don't break an automorph when I am doing it without directions.
BTW, Wreckage has automorph when moving his chest into place his heda moves into place, and a gun comes out of his stomach...
