Freaking BumbleBees car front won't stay locked! Now he doesn't stay in car mode. Any body else have this problem?

Known issue. One version of the Bumblebee mold has a tab molded twice as thick as it should be, and breaks another tab the first time you transform him.

No word on if you can tell if you got the bad copy while it's in package, I don't think.

Another forum has pics of what ur describing. This kinda sucks, cuz younger kids will break him even easier.

Once again HASBRO drops the ball on something.

Yeah, I can't seem to find the forum now where I read that at. There were pictures in package of what to look for to make sure you get the "good" version. There is also another thread talking about this same issue here:

I'd take a picture of it in package but I don't have the "good" version to compare it to. The forum I read it on had pictures of both. It makes me mad I can't find the review now.

Yes. I did. That other thread with pics is mine.

Your figure is now broken. Hasbro thanks you for your money. Hope you like the bot mode!

I also hope Hasbro invests whatever money it saved on plastic into better quality control.

Good thing I have my receipt! I just hope they have another BumbleBee.

So I guess if it feels stuck, return it?

At this point I'm just going to wait a few weeks to pickup another one. Hopefully the fixed batch will be more prevalent and I won't have to worry about scrutinizing the figure in the package.

I saw Swindle and Bonecrusher in the store today and skipped them. Each one had some kind of visible flaw. Swindle looked really bad - a door was misaligned and it had paint scratches.

I think I'll wait for the bigger Bonecrusher figure anyway.

I looked around and no stores had the figures, but I did return BumbleBee (I told the store it was broken so they wouldn't resell it), so at least I got my money back.
