hI there,

I have been trying to find conclusive info on greenscream as the info on the other versions are more forthcoming. Anyone out there have greenscream and the hasbro version... which is better/preferred and why. I heard there where quality issues with the greenscream and hasbro made it better. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the boards :) Questions about toys go to the Toy Forum, just to let you know. ;)

The reports about Takara's Starscream having problems are correct for the most part. Avoiding that version is the way to go, but don't think the other versions are perfect either :)

I have 'green'scream, the Walmart Starscream, Takara Skywarp and Thundercracker. I have never had a problem with a single one of them. I heard the stories about fingers missing and etc., but I managed to go 4 for 4 without any QC problems, so I can't complain. I'm planning on picking up the Ghost MP Starscream when it's released.

But I am a Starscream fan. I'd recommend that you buy them all. But that's just me. And I admit that I have a bias.

I have Green Starscream, and I haven't had any problem with him. There are one or two bits of him that are a bit tight, but they'll probably loosen with time.

He is actually one of my favorites.

Moved to the Toy forum since this topic is about a Transformers toy.

I was going to go Green but when I found the G1 redeco I went with that one. The fingers were very loose but that is easily fixed. The plate on the back of the jet doesn't fit properly but I don't have that problem with Skywarp so maybe it's just mine.

I have a green Starscream and a Takara Skywarp and I've never had any problems with either. Only thing that was wrong with Starscream was he had a slight stress mark on the tip of one of the vertical wings.

The problems we heard about most (with the Takara green SS) were stress marks and breakages on parts that are meant to transform and are pretty much impossible to fix properly. I have the Hasbro version and the two other Takara Seeker repaints. I have had no problems with those three.

I bought the Takara G1 repaint Starscream, and the only thing you have to watch out for is the tendency of the weathering on the figure to rub off on sweaty hands. Got the shock of my life when I noticed the right side of his jet mode's side was unnaturally "clean" compared to the rest of it. I plan to touch it back up with a Tamiya weathering set.

Otherwise, it's fine in terms of build and QC.

I have the Takara Green Screamer, the Takara version of the Walmart G1 Starscream, the Takara Skywarp, and the Takara Thundercracker. They all are about the same as far as durability goes. I did have some tight sticking issues with the Green Scream. But nothing too major. If you only want to get one, I HIGHLY suggest getting the Takara G1 version. I'm sure the Walmart version is just as good, but I honestly found more of the Takara version for better prices online. So that would be my suggestion. Either way, I say go for the G1 look verses the Green version. In my display I have the Green version in jet mode and the three others in robot mode as the green version has a more real world looking jetmode paintjob. But if you want the other two seekers as well, you're not going to be too worried about realistic paintjobs. Hope that helps!

I own Greenscream and have had no problems with him. I also own Hasbro Skywarp and they're pretty similar in terms of quality.

Thinking back, if I'd had the choice at the time I probably would have bought the Hasbro MP Starscream because he's cheaper and more G1 accurate, but I'm happy with my Greenscream anyway.

Greenscream is ass.

Go with one of the gray versions for great and continued justice.

I've got Greenscream, Takara SW, and the Takara G1 repaint-all fine. I received Thundercracker last Christmas, but the paint was screwed up on it and the replacement I received. I'm hoping that Hasbro releases a Thundercracker at the end of this year-if so, I'll get him. I'm also going to pick up the clear version in June.

As for which I like best, because of it's deep black color, it's Skywarp all the way. The Takara version is absolutely awesome.

Of course, EVERYONE knows "Greenscream" is actually Masterpiece Acid Storm...
