Hi everyone,
I searched through the toy forum & couldn't find an answer. I'm trying to pick up a G1 Devastator gift set this week and wondering if anyone knows, has any resources or links on how to identify if it's the real thing vs. a KO? Hard to tell on eBay. Sorry if this is already posted somewhere; mods feel free to point me in the right direction & lock thread if it's already answered somewhere else.

I know there are packaging issues, but as to the toys and molds themselves, I don't know.
There's a guide to the grid placement and location of Devastator on the box floating around the web.

There's a somewhat dated (but still useful) guide over on
TFW2005.
Here's a couple of comparisons too:

Though the package is a give away(the freshness of the print) but some packages near mimicks the original. You can also check the spelling (yup the spelling). Similar to the Dinobot "Bommander" Grimlock package.
And take a look at this.

Thanks for the info... it's really helpful.
Wish me luck in finding a genuine-article Devastator. I couldn't resist ordering the crazydevy upgrades (head & hips sets)... so I better get a G1 Devs to use them with.

If I were you though (that is if the price ain't the problem, get the highend K.O and use the upgrade on him. Leave the original Devastator pristine.
