Small problem with my Deluxe-class Ratchet

hi, hope I can get some help here. My deluxe-class Ratchet's arm cannon won't 'lock' into place. It clicks in along the ridges, but won't stay locked in. I've tried pushing it in as hard as I can, but nothing. Is there something I'm missing?

Does the rear flip out gray piece rest flush against the butt of the rifle? If not, push harder. I was missing that final click for the first time or two.
