The month of February has been Voyager Seaspray's time to shine. He's been revealed several times, most notably in our coverage of Toyfair 2010 here. To top it all off, we have a video review from famous Youtuber peaugh. He goes over the usual - articulation, gimmicks, posing and transformation. You can form your own opinion of the figure by checking out the video embed below or via Youtube.

The dates for Seaspray's release are still to be announced, however we can speculate that we should be seeing the figure sometime in the summer.

When is peaugh going to reveal how he gets TF figures 6 months before they are release retail?

Well, I guess that is not as important as how bad ass Sea Spray is. Will buy.

I am getting more and more tempted by this figure.

Is the head the gold plastic painted dark, or dark plastic with gold paint? Because if I could strip the paint to give it a yellow/gold head, I would be a lot happier.

Looks awesome. Other than the chicken lower legs, and the opened hand, he's pretty much Classics/Universe style.

and even then the legs look actually kind of cool. The Flippers are a great little feature, they didn't need to include.

Can't wait for it to be released.

He's got someone on the inside? Hasbro sends him free toys to spread the popularity before the release? He's just good? Friends with yizhi521 or s250?

Regardless of his means, I'm glad the he's using his privileges for the betterment of the fandom, instead of hoarding toys.

Ah, beat me to it! Was going to post the same. :D

I really like the sculpt & features, and will probably buy on sight... but is anyone else holding out for a possible repaint in G1 colors? Would TakTomy do it?

I have to wait until this summer? I want one now! Grrr..lucky guy with the inside. "Where does he get those wonderful toys?" Sorry had to quote the Joker. I think it looks great. If I could just drown out his G1 cartoon voice that keeps echoing in my head...

He could be a time traveller? You never know. I mean, Peaugh is awesome!

Yup, I like the mold but I think that TakaraTomy will produce a better paintjob. Just look at Universe Powerglide and Silverbolt. I can wait for it (but not too long).

Okay, Seaspray rocks. He has almost no kibble that doesn't look cool (the shoulder engines are about the closest thing to kibblle and even they look more like a robot feature), is nice and sturdy looking, and has a medium complexity transformation - not TOO complex, but not too simple, either. And all the design elements (scuba head, flippers, scuba tank back) just add to the character.

I can just see Minibot Seaspray being picked on by Short Round, and then Big Seaspray coming up to protect his smaller incarnation... :P

...and yet doesn't have G1 Seaspray for a comparison shot.

Still, this guy's got the best reviews on the 'Tube. And I'm all over Seaspray as well. Great update!

*sighs* I still don't like it.

I like some of the features a bit more, now that I've seen this video, but the overall figure, just a big pass for me.

I'm really, really not liking those legs and feet, and the transformation is painfully simple.

Ugh.

Might I ask what figures exactly you like? I've posted just about everything the past few years and I don't think I can recall any times where you were purely positively happy about a figure. I find your judgemental skills pretty handy because it shows that no figure is perfect... but damn, what have you collected lately?

Let's see...

ROTF:

"Ultimate" Class:
Devastator (a lot of fun, and underrated.)

Leader Class:
Optimus Prime (words can't even describe the awesome.)
Megatron (given quite a raw deal. With a little bit of work, he's a great figure.)
Jetfire (also gets the raw deal. I love this guy.)

Voyager Class:
Bludgeon (an absolute piece of art.)
Starscream (far superior to the first movie's version.)
Demolishor (simplistic transformation, but I find him to be a worthy purchase.)

Deluxe Class:
Soundwave (I love the Ravage missile. That little extra goes a long way.)
Ravage (looks cool and I love the biting gimmick.)
Skids (one of the better figures of the line.)
Mudflap (a little better than his brother.)
Heck I even bought the Arcee sisters and will buy the Elita repaint to complete the trio. (Though I find Chromia to be the better of the two molds.)

And more from the line, but I'm not going to list them all.

TF 1:

Leader Class Megatron (I still love his gimmicks and the Automorph worked really well on him, I thought.)

Voyager Ironhide (No collection is complete without one version of this mold.)

Voyager Ratchet (far superior to the craptastic deco on Desert Tracker Ratchet)

Plus a slew of Deluxes from the first movie.

Animated: About 90-95% of the figures released. I only skipped out on repaints, all but one of the Activators, Voyager Megatron, and Roll Out Optimus.

I even broke my rule to get Cybertron Mode Ratchet to not only complete my set of figures, but to support Hasbro.

I collected a good portion of the A/E/C trilogy (though some of it's slimmed down a bit now)

So, to imply that I don't like any of the current or recent or future offerings is ridiculous. After all of the figures I've bought, all the different styles I've collected, I'm entitled to not like one here and there.

Big friggin' whoop.

Given the somewhat ambiguous nature of the upcoming toyline, as well as the "not-fully-Movie-esque" design of this figure, TakaraTomy could go two different ways with this figure. One, they could release it identical to the Hasbro one in their version fo the Movie/ROTF toyline. Two, they could give it a more G1-inspired color scheme with some added chrome details in their Henkei! Henkei! toyline.

You liked the Fist Movie Leader Megatron??? What are you, insane??? That guy was a big... no, let me rephrase that, GINORMOUS waste of 40$! I could have puked when I first transformed him! But, hey, I still got him, makes a good edition to the first movie
