New Masterpiece Figure Ideas?

The main issue with this forum is WHICH CHARACTER WOULD YOU WANT TO SEE AS THE NEXT MASTERPIECE FIGURE?

Personally I think that we should have either Galvatron or Shockwave.

:CON: GALVATRON :CON: : Why should it be Galvatron? Well I think that the toys made for galvatron haven't brought him enough respect. Sure we have classics Galvatron, but it is so SMALL (small). If your going to have your masterpiece Prime take on this little buddy then that is a problem. Also a tank is not a turret. Galvatron would make an excellent choice for a masterpiece.

:CON: SHOCKWAVE :CON: : Why should we have a Shockwave? Well even though the generation 1 toy was awesome, there is so much more you can do for the character. Accessories, no trigger crotch are just to name some possibilities. Also Shockwave's back looked a lot like a huge box. I know Shockwave will probably not become a masterpiece, but it would be awesome.

I do believe the current rumours are either Hot Rod or Galvatron.

I'm hoping for the latter.

BLITZWING! who wouldnt like an elaborate, super detailed triple changer that made him big and badder than his G1 or animated self? Id also like to se a series of combiners like Predaking, Abominus, and Menasor... highly unlikely, but we havent seen much of these guys in awhile, Individually packaged of course, but when all of them are stuck together... that is one big combiner! I wouldnt even mind seeing the other 4 Dinobots,

I'll take a Hot Rod/Rodimus over Galvatron. Of course we'll probably likely see both in due time.

All I want is Shockwave, I don't care if he doesn't turn into a cuy or anything. i just want a giant Shockwave bot. Galvatron or Hot Rod wouldn't bother me much, but Shockwave tops the list for me.

I heard the next mp would be ghost starscream, i would like a rodimud or galvatron but we don't even have a soundwave yet!! How bout jetfire as well, a huge accurate jetfire would be nice if we went by pecking order, how bout a trailer for ultra maGnus a la FP style!!

I thought we were suppose to get MP Grimlock. And MP Ghost Starscream has already been confirmed by BBTS, but I don't think they would release it in the US. Soundwave would be cool, that would have to be one really big cassette player!!!

Galvatron, Soundwave and Rodimus would be great. I'd want a Masterpiece Bumblebee to make up for the lack of an Alternators Bumblebee.

I'd also want a Masterpiece Ironhide (later repainted into Ratchet). That's got less of a chance than the more famous Soundwave or Bumblebee but I'd hope the repaint/retool potential would mean something to TakaraTomy and Hasbro.

Since the G1 toy of Soundwave was so accurate then I don't think we will get a Soundwave Masterpiece. I do like the thought of Jetfire or Blitzwing, but animated Blitzwing is pretty cool and fairly new. Not to mention we already have a few plane masterpieces (even though they are seekers). I believe a big MENASOR would be awesome. Menasor doesn't get enough credit from his toys. Bruiticus and Superion just came out in ROTF packs so I don't think it will be them. Devastator would be cool also. I honestly don't know guys, wwho do you think would be a good masterpiece automobile?

While I wouldn't buy any of them(I only buy movieverse...) I would say Shockwave, but I'd also like a MasterPiece combiner, mostly Bruticus, my favorite combiner.

I wouldn't mind Galvatron or Rodimus, but I think they should focus on the core pre-movie characters first. I know we've been Bumblebee'd to death since the live action movies started, but I think a toon accurate MP Bumblebee would be awesome with obvious repaint potential as Cliffjumper. His inclusion in the Alternity line probably hurts those chances. Maybe Ironhide with a Rachet repaint. Niether of those characters have appeared in MP, Alternators, BT, or Alternity. I would love a accurate Ironhide, I wouldn't even care if he turned into a mini van.

There should be a sticky "What figures do you want to see?"

Personally, I'll take any of the previous ideas in this topic except for BB. He's been beaten to death with movie-verse figures.

Also, I'd like to see MP Astrotrain, Springer, Rotorstorm, Overlord and Doubledealer.

............
I made a topic of that :KREMZEEK:

Anyways, I still say MP Bruticus, he's pretty much the coolest combiner and would have alot more flexibility as a MP figure.

wasnt there a rumor of a FP predaking with the image blacked out.. or do you think thats just an encore? I like the idea of MP ultra magnus armor (instead of cardboard) and even though I dont own him...I was thinking of that the other day.

Grimlock is coming to TRU, Ghost starscream is posted as upcoming, Masterpiece Fort Max... Possible and would avoid toy laws, and also if they make him the size of a supreme figure it would work better with normal sized figures and bigger than MP prime? that was the idea... Shockwave would be really sweet, I doubt theres going to be a MP Bumblebee as a Beetle cause didnt they screw that up with Volkswagen. If they get lazy enough they could do MP coneheads

The blacked out Predaking you are making reference to is something I-Gears is working, possibly an upgrade set for the G1 figures like what Crazy Devy has been doing. It has also been rumored that Predaking will see a release in the Encore line.

As for BB being a VW, they could easily get around that if they wanted. They would not be able to use VW symbols or market the alt mode as a VW, but they could make the alt mode extremely VW-like with no problems. The same way the Universe Lambo alt mode for Sunstreaker, Sideswipe, and RedAlert isn't licensed but everyone knows exactly what it's supposed to be.

Galvatron will likely get the nod next, though I'll 2nd most of the previous sentiment on Shockwave.

A Classics Shockwave would likely end up being some hybrid tank/standing cannon monstrosity that is more Classics Galvatron than Classics Megatron. Also, Shockwave is beloved enough that he would be a worthwhile U.S. Hasbro exclusive.

Which brings me to my next musing: what kind of future does the MP line have in regards to U.S. releases? The line can continue without Hasbro bringing it to American shores, but that also leaves a big chunk of TF fandom that may not be eager to continue to pay $120+ import prices being charged for Grimlock. Now the big dino has enough of a following to not only tempt collectors to buy at that price, but make for a Wal-Mart exclusive.

However, many more characters can fit this bill? How many more characters can justify the high import price tag that will attract a niche who will want and can afford to have the figure sooner with better paint applications while being popular enough to warrant a mass, albeit limited release that still retails for more than chump change?

MP Skywarp is a fine example. He can still be found at Wal-Marts, discounted to nearly half, if not more, than his original retail price. That does not bode well for a Hasbro MP Thundercracker, nor does bode well for the argument that to come up with an MP Ironhide or Prowl is logical since the easy repaints will be the likes of Ratchet, Bluestreak, Smokescreen, etc.

Truly, while an MP Ratchet or Smokescreen may be dreamy to us, is it really feasible to manufacture and sell these when the clearance bin is reckoning? Ditto for Hot Rod/Rodimus and Galvatron who are, granted more relevant characters, but can we say they are beloved enough to be more than a $120+ luxury to the wealthiest of collectors?

Galvatron. Out of all the TFs now available a big YES goes out to Galvatron for MP treatment.

After him it'd be nice to see them try to do a Hot Rod / Rodimus. Is it too much to hope that they could combine the two ideas with, maybe, two faces and extending body parts? Design-wise Roddy and Hot Rod weren't that different in the show.

After that ... Shocky I guess. Those two are the last guys I'd really love to see. If they start doing cars (which is inevetable, I guess), I'd like to see them in two packs so the price point is worth what are sure to be glorified Alternators.
