As always online auction site Ebay has been a tremendous source for first looks at Transformers figures. This time it's the other way around, as we get a magnificent look at a handful of G1 and G2 prototypes that have not seen the light of day till now. Seller the-spacebridge has offered prototypes of Generation One Powermaster Optimus Prime, a Generation Two Scavenger test shoot prototype, and a Generation One Slag that has an alternate colour scheme compared to the original. Unfortunately the auctions have ended, but the pictures remain. Check out the auctions below!

I already saw the Slag variant on ebay about three days ago... If I had known it could have made news I would have posted it  . Oh well, at least I beat Mkall and Dead Metal on commenting about this....

How does Hasbro dispose of prototypes ??? Im under the assumption that people with inner connections to the company get these "gifts". I personally think instead of giving them to these chosen ones, Hasbro should auction them off and donate the proceeds to charity.

Slag's robot mode prototype looks more like his cartoon self--he has a red head hands.

I'm pretty sure they're not allowed to sell them for legal reasons. Prototypes haven't been safety tested, etc.
