Seibertron.com member dragons has notified us that there seem to be problems with the 3rd party custom toys producer iGear.
When you visit their
website you will notice that it's no longer there but has been replaced with a search engine and collection of ad links. This happens often when a website is no longer cost effective or dead, the owner will host a search engine to make at least a bit of money to help pay off their hosting.
It mustn't necessarily be iGear's fault that their site is no-longer there as they are a sub domain to tf08.net which is also no-longer there. The cause for this could be that they could no longer afford hosting or it could very likely be due to legal reasons. TF08.net has been known to leak and sell stolen prototypes , test shots and early production run toys.
IGear was known for their custom figures, especially for announcing many products and taking their time with releasing them, there have also been complaints about their quality being very low. Most recently they have been known for their announced miniature Master Piece Optimus Prime Knock Off. It is very likely that Hasbro or TakaraTomy have taken legal action due to this and other straight KO's of their figures.
Should you have pre-ordered one of their upcoming products, checking on their status and maybe even cancelling these might be a very wise decision! This might be a false alarm and they might come back with a new website and domain but you can never be too careful.
We at seibertron.com will keep you updated on this subject.
