Botcon Theme Confirmed and Exclusive Repaint #2 Revealed!

Are you feeling the Generation Two vibe? The official Botcon website has been updated with the first glimpse at one of the officlal Botcon Exclusives! We get a G2 (Generation Two) incarnation of Pyro from the Universe Inferno Mold as Generation Two Spark!. Check out the funkiness below!
With this preview, it is confirmed that the 2010 Botcon Theme will be Generation Two!
From 1984 to 2006, Earth was the biggest, baddest battlefield of the Great War. But after the Rebirth,
Galvatron and the Nebulan Lord Zarak beat it, takin' the fight to Nebulos and other civilized worlds beyond.
Sure 'nuff, Optimus Prime and the rest were right on their afterburners, leaving only a skeleton crew to man
Autobot City against future Decepticons attacks.
As we fought across space a new generation of Transformers arose on Earth, boosted by experimental human
and Nebulan science and given the spark of life through technology reverse-engineered from Vector Sgima. Ol' Terra Firma
was home to a whole new "Second Generation" led by an Autobot who sees this planet not only as a place to defend,
but as the place he considers home!
While things were pretty peaceful for a time, we all know that can only last for so long. And now, through the magic
of the Cybernet space cube, the BotCon enhanced stories of the Transformers...Generation 2: Redux!

I know Pyro had a similar color shame (the red is tooooooooooo bright on this one!) but this mold with this colors just looks too funny.

Glad to hear G2 is the theme this year! That makes me very happy (although disappointed I won't be able to attend). I actually like this Botcon Pyro. Very nice homage to the original. Can't wait to see if he has a new head. I think this year's Botcon is going to have better exclusives than last year.

Egh.
I wasn't a huge fan of the nutty colors when the G2 line was around and more than a decade later I'm still not. Good molds during G2? Yes. Colors and decals? No. And this thing here looks like Rainbow Bright got a hold of it. I'd almost be embarrassed to travel clear to Florida for this. ::sigh::

Decade later? More like 15-20 years later. G2 has not been around for some time.
As for the garish colors, that is G2's trademark.

Ok, it's been about 15 years. I knew it was between 13-15 years, but I wasn't exactly sure, that's why I said
more than a decade.
And I know it was G2's trademark, that's why I only ever purchased afew of them.

Sorry to make it sound like I was jumping all over your post. I saw the decade ago bit and G2 did not come to my mind. When I think of a decade ago, Car Robots/Robots in Disguise comes to mind. The G2 toys seem so long ago for me.
I loved most of the G2 molds (repaints and all), so I treasured most even if the paint decos were rather odd.

The locale this year is very convenient for me and I am a huge fan of the G2 toys so I am very, very, very tempted to make this my first BotCon....ack but my bank account will hate me!
