I was watching TJ Omega's review on Nemesis Prime and he mentioned something about Beast Wars Neo's "dead mode dinosaurs."

What are those?

Some of the characters had a 3rd mode where they would become a trap of some sort. The only dead mode I'm aware of is the Triceratops (who's name I forget) had a gimmick to lay flat, roll back his eyes, stick out his tongue, and expose his ribs. Neat idea.

Yeah, "Gildart", or "Triceradon" had a dead mode:

I like it! Reminds me of the bigger Jurrassic Park figures "Dino Damage".

His remold, Killerpunch, also possessed a dead mode. He also has a removable head, which might make for an even more convincing dead mode:

"Saberback", or "Striker", becomes a flower:

Hmm, might be funny if Waspinator was attracted to it...

Finally, "Sling" became just a basic trap:

Not that anyone would be stupid enough to...

The other Predacons were either repaints or didn't have a third trap mode, though Magmatron has a combined form.

Some of the Maximals, while on the subject, had "Targetmaster" forms. They are:

Longrack:

A claw? So the only way to hurt the enemy is to let them get CLOSE TO YOU? WORST TARGETMASTER....EVER!

Break, who doesn't have a gallery:

And last but not least,Stampy:

That looks...mistransformed. I know it's not, but it doesn't look like a gun at all.

Well I hope that was informative. I don't have any of the Maximals, but I do have Triceradon, Sling, and Striker. Triceradon's third mode wins easily.

Stampy's Targetmaster mode is supposed to be scissors. It doesn't look much like it though.

I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of one of Break's ammo...

Did Break's instructions mention his weapon mode? The first I remember hearing about his weapon mode was when it was used in the Beast Wars comic series a year or two ago, sad since I had gotten him new back in 1999. All I could think was that it finally made sense of where the missile goes in beast mode.

Yep, the 3rd modes of all figures are mentioned in their instructions, even Break's Butt Gun.
