The Energon Pub

So I found some G1 transformers at a second hand store (antique/pawn shop type of place). The figures they had were G1, still in the box, and in great shape. Only problems were that they had already been sold and that they were insanely expensive.

They had G1 Sunstreaker, Skywarp, and some orange crane Autobot, still in package, great shape all together for $600. They also had Blitzwing and Slag in box (opened) both for $75. Also saw Shockwave (box was shredded) and Jetfire in box price unknown.

I know that collecting these figures isn't cheap but $600?! Only the most die-hard fans (you guys) would buy these. I just don't have deep enough pockets to buy them. If I did I would be all over this but I just can't afford them.

The owner said he would get more in by the end of the week, so I'll be going back to see what he has.

Was kinda neat though to actually see G1 stuff still package, never thought I would.

I don't think anyone here would pay that much for those figures, cos they know they'd get them cheaper on ebay! But going into a shop and seeing boxed G1s musst have been strange!

I see them occasionally in Camden, theres a guy there now who has a boxed G1 magnus and wnats £200.00 for it in tatty condiion.

I was lucky when I was passing a old junker toy shop and found a mint loose Shockwave for £12.00 and no rubber hose damadge!!!!

All three (The crane is Grapple, BTW) for $600? If so that's not bad. A MISB Sunstreaker alone can go for $400-$1000 on eBay.

I swear, one of these days I'm gonna build a time machine, go back to 1985, and buy up all the 'Formers I can carry...

Yup, the MISB (if it was that) Sunstreaker was the one that would have caught my eye.
As for the rest... Hmm... Sounds like the owner of the second hand store does have a fair idea of the value of these: perhaps all bit on the pricy side, but not unrealistic.
