Transformers Animated Arcee is proven to be a popular and hard to find toy figure as many collectors could not get their hand on it. Now, Takara Tomy has given the collectors a second chance by releasing the Japanese version Animated Arcee.

Takara Animated Arcee is part of the second wave Animated figures that scheduled to be released on the 24th April 2010. Japanese toy blogger and Transformers fan - Alfes 2010 has posted the gallery of Takara version Animated Arcee.

I believe it looks pretty similar to the US version. Need to inspect more closely.

Not nearly as red as the previous photos led me to believe. Looks better than the US version and looks like they corrected the potential breakage that could occurr in the hands. Looks like the 'thumb' has has been re-sculpted.

I'm picking this version up, also, that is certain.

Really? The thumbs looks the same to me.

They really should've just molded closed fists.

Yeah, I guess they are the same when I look closer.

Dammit. If I'd seen this a lot sooner I would've preordered, because I was on the fence about whether I should try to find Hasbro's or wait for this one, but now the preorder is sold out everywhere. I guess I should've just reserved one anyway because I could always cancel later...why wasn't I thinking? :BANG_HEAD: :BANG_HEAD: :BANG_HEAD:

I really love that packaging. The toy itself looks good. I've been thinking about getting Arcee, since I've kinda wanted one since I was a wee lad. The arms and lower torso brown on the US release as well?

Bodhar is selling Arcee for $30.00 shipped. I'll post below, but leave the email off. I can PM you that later if you like.

Hello Everyone,
I have been getting numerous e-mails regarding the 4 EZ Exclusive Animated Figures. Also, I would like to apologize for the tardiness of the e-mail as I have been retooling my e-mail list to make things smoother on my end. So, to answer people’s questions, the new Japanese exclusive EZ animated figures include:
Animated Optimus Prime Clear Red Version
Purchase over 3000yen worth of Transformers Animated merchandise
Animated Prowl Clear Smog Version
Purchase either TA-01 Optimus Prime or TA-06 Megatron
Animated Bumblebee Clear Yellow Version
Purchase over 3000yen worth of Transformers Animated merchandise
Animated Starscream Clear Purple Version
Purchase either TA01 Optimus Prime or TA06 Megatron
You can see the pictures here:
http://www.takaratomy.co.jp/products/TF ... fa_02.html

Now, I am selling the set of 4 for $100 TOTAL SHIPPED. Which I feel is reasonable considering the hoops my friends and I will have to go through to obtain these sought after figures. However, to prevent an overflow of Animated figures into my already cramped Transformer Storage room I am also asking those who wish to get all of the figures to kindly purchase the following Takara/Tomy figures:
Animated Optimus Prime AND Megatron: $90 SHIPPED
Choose 3 of the following (SHIPPED):
A) Animated Activators CliffJumper & Dirge: $30
B) Animated Arcee: $30
C) Animated Bumblebee: $30 <- Recommended (gold chrome version)
D) Animated Soundwave: $30
E) Animated Prowl: $30
F) Animated Swoop: $30
G) Animated Ratchet: $30
H) Animated Blackarachnia: $30
I) Animated Bulkhead: $45
J) Animated Blitzwing: $45
K) Animated Lugnut: $45
L) Animated Starscream: $45
If you don’t want the Animated figures, then I can still sell the set of four for $220 SHIPPED. But obviously, getting the animated toys is the better deal.
If you would like multiples of the EZ figures, then please e-mail me how many you would like and I’ll quote you accordingly.
Rules:
1) Please send me your order to (EDITED) and please write “Transformers Animated EZ” in the subject line (without the quotes). And place your order. Please include:
A) Name
B) Country (no need for the full address, I will use the address listed on your Paypal account)
C) Paypal ID
D) Which THREE Animated Figures along with Prime/Megatron (Just please use the corresponding letters)
Again, I will only ship to the address listed on your Paypal account.
Ok, that is all for now, and I will again continue to update everyone about further TF Japanese exclusives and I look forward to all your replies!

Best Regards,
-B2K-

I'm really liking the slight differences between this and the US one. The color scheme on this one pays a lot more attention to detail. I had the same problem about ordering it though, ended up ordering it through Yahobby.

thanks CP, I'm not sure which I like better. Yes this one has more attention to detail, looks a bit crisper, but those brown arms and waist feel very out of place.

Oh crap. Do I give up on TRU Arcee and get this? Come on, someone has GOT to have some data on the TRU Arcee Dysfunction (TRUAD). :BOOM: Please? *sob* Oh please, someone *sob*...

This is all very confusing... you have to buy minimum 3 figures?

way I read it is that you've got to get the Megatron and Prime set at $90, then 3 additional figures for $30 or more. You do get the teeny tiny exclusives though. Suppose a few folks could get together and pick and choose though.

That packaging is really really cool.

But I'm not seeing much improvement here.

This is closer to the animation model and stock photography of the Hasbro version.

Since I have to import this ether way and Hasbro costs about as much as this to get here I'll just get this one.
Would be cool though is Hasbro brought stuff like this over so I wouldn't have to import 9 out of 10 figures.

If you just want to order an Arcee from him just ask. He's great to do business with.

The whole deal is him trying to get his regulars (like myself) the Legends exclusives. Since you have to buy so much in TFs to get them, he has to get friends to go in to do it for him (who he reimburses+).

The deal is you can buy anything in any combination you want, but if you want the four exclusives you either have to take some of his stock off his hands that he has to buy to get them, or you can just pay him a crapload of money.

He sells singles of the regular figs too, and is on eBay. Very trustworthy, super good to do business with.

Is the head on this the right scale to replace the head on Binaltech Arcee? I am not into animated and hate the head on Binaltech Arcee. I wonder if a head swap would make the Binaltech look better.

Okay, this is a little thing but it's annoying: unlike the wave 1 figures this figure doesn't come with a Takara tech-spec card thing. Instead the catalogue sheet thing has Arcee's bio and specs on the back in black and white. It's better than nothing but it's a little vexing.

I mean you know frustration. I love the cards that come with the Japanese figures when I buy them.

Did you get your free incentive legend toys too?

I wish she was a lighter shade of pink to be more accurate but not bad.

Nah, I didn't go to any of the big stores. I knew they'd be sold out.

She seems to have the same thumb issues as the Hasbro version. Bad form Takara. Bad form.
