How about a Masterpiece Dinobot for 2011?

Hi,
Before anyone misunderstands this thread: I didn't see any announcement for a Masterpiece Dinobot figure anywhere.
I'm creating this thread just to share some thoughts that crossed my mind. In 2011 (next year) will be the 15th Beast Wars anniversary, and I don't know if TakaraTomy or Hasbro have any special commemorative plans thought out yet, but I think the best way to commemorate the 15th Beast Wars anniversary would be to release a Masterpiece Dinobot figure. It's one of the best Transformers characters ever, it truly deserves the Masterpiece treatment. I wish TakaraTomy and Hasbro could see real interest in this and make a bet on this figure in the right time next year. They've got plently of time to work on this!
Do you people think we could all make a lot of noise to make them consider this? I think that with a lot of talk we could be heard by them.
What are your opinions on this? I think they REALLY should do it for next year as a commemoration, it's the right time, and there's still time to do it!
Take care everyone
(I'm posting this also on tfw2005)
EDIT: For those who don't know Dinobot:

I'm bad at predicting these things but honestly I don't think Beast Wars would be the first pick for the next Masterpiece and I don't think Dinobot would be the first pick for a Beast Wars character. That's not to say Dinobot's a bad character or anything (I love Code Of Hero) but in terms of popularity and recognisability I'd say he's miles behind the characters used so far.

I don't mean to sound harsh, but it would actually upset me if Dinobot was produced as a Masterpiece figure. Like Diem, I have no problem with the character, but I would actually be pretty unhappy if this happened.

No question that Dinobot is a superior character and likely one of the first Beast Wars characters that will be inducted into the Hall of Fame that Hasbro is starting, but I just don't see Takara going for him before other G1 characters likely to sell better in Japan.

Capellamusic, your link has no content!
I didn't realise until the end of your thread that you meant Dinobot rather than A Dinobot. No, I don't think Dinobot would be a good choice. The original idea of the MP line is to produce cartoon accurate G1 characters. I'd love it if they produced more Dinobots, but not Dinobot.

It seems to be a quirk of the message boards. There's a ")" on the end of the url, but when it's posted here, that final ")" is getting removed.
Try this:
http://transformers.wikia.com/wiki/Dinobot_%28BW%29I would love to see an MP Dinobot, especially if it they can design it so that it doesn't have robot arms sticking out of the dino's chest in alt mode. A kibble-free dino mode for Dinobot would be awesome. I don't care if the robot mode has dino-kibble; I just want a dino that doesn't look like it has a humanoid robot bursting from its chest cavity.

It'd be nice... but unlikely.

I wouldn't mind seeing an MP Dinobot .... but I don't think it's possible. He's even worse than G1 in terms of models that "morph" rather than transform. MP Prime's truck mode even fails at have 100% accuracy in terms of proportion, it's easier to buy that than it would be for a beast mode with easily seen robot kibble. And there'd be A LOT with Dinobot. There's just no getting around that. While a delux (or even Voyager) figure can get away with the obvious flaws surrounding a Dinobot figure, a Masterpeice couldn't. Even megatron had a great gun mode, after all ... dinobot wouldn't be perfect in either mode.

After seeing the general reaction to my thoughts it seems very few people would want it. Oh well, that makes it unlikely to happen. At least I've got both the amazing Henkei version, plus the 2007 TakaraTomy reissue, which is also amazing. I wonder if they'll make more reissues next year.

I wouldn't be interested, but I'd be happy for you if they made it...

Thanks, it's really one of my most wished figures. If they ever make it, it's a definite buy on pre-order for me.

I'm not a big fan of Beast Wars but it would make sense if they released some figures or had a campaign to commemorate the anniversary.
I think it would be very unlikely for them to release a Dinobot masterpiece figure tho, which I have to agree with the other guys, would be a disappointing choice for this line.
Realistically, they will release Rodimus Prime next, followed by Galvatron, who we have to remember is hugely popular here in Japan (and truly deserving of a great Masterpiece figure after that Classics reject figure).
They do try and milk each mold by doing as many repaints as possible (I still can't believe they're releasing Sleep Mode Prime so soon after the almost identical Nemesis Prime). So.....
Repaints that they haven't done yet of course would be the three conehead seekers (with only minor changes to the mold).
Also they would no doubt release Rodimus in his shattered glass colours and Galvatron in his anime colours to get some repaints out of them. Which leaves Megatron who hasn't been released in his black colours yet for some reason and Grimlock.
In Grimlock's case they could repaint him a la shattered glass and call it Trypticon or Overkill or just do the boring thing and call him Grimlock: black version.
Now, will they release Rodimus Prime with his trailer or without....?

Or they could just release a blue G2 version.
On the topic of Dinobot getting a MP figure, it would be the first MP mold I completely passed on. Of course I'm not a Beast-era fan, I don't own a single Beast-era figure.

I would kill for a show accurate MP Dinobot, but again I do not see it happening.
However, it would shock me if there was not a bunch of show accurate Beast Wars figures with new molds in the Classics/Generations line next year.

I wouldn't mind that! Give me more Henkei/Universe/Classics/Etc. Beast Wars figures like Dinobot and Cheetor and I'll be really happy

.

Hmmm. MP Bw dinobot.. I am not a fan of this, now if they did a MP Dinobot Slag, Sludge, Snarl or Swoop I would be all over it like a kid on candy..
Just think of the massive size of a MP Sludge...

Give better quality than those (I prefer the original Cheetor over the Universe, while Dinobot is 50-50 between them, I have the original and the Universe too, both have their flaws, but I prefer the original) - however, I'd love to see Universe upgrade Tarantulas and Rhinox - those are the only ones left without show-accurate bodies.
As for a MP Grimlock-sized Dinobot: I don't think it will happen, but if it will, it will be INSTANT WIN.

Sludge was the one I was actually thinking about. That was the first Dinobot I ever owed, and he is still my favorite.

And for the time he had some of the best articulation of all. His knees bent and he could be put in all kinds of poses.
Just thinking of a MP sized one makes me crazy...
It would be awesome (expensive but awesome).
