A new book has been produced in Japan by publisher Poplar to tie into the broadcast of Transformers Animated. TRANSFORMERS ANIMATED COLLECTION is a book aimed towards very young children and babies.

The book appears to contain a number of images of the Takara Animated figures with bios and is similar to a range of books based around popular Japanese toy products such as Super Sentai (Power Rangers) and Ultraman. It costs 735 yen (approximately 8 dollars).

Personally, I feel that anything that boosts Transformers' increasingly slim profile in Japan is a great thing. If Takara can recapture some of the children's market that belongs to Sentai and Kamen Rider and so on it may mean a lot for the future of the series.
