Movie toys: Great buy or junk? Worth opening?

I ordered pretty much all available ones but have been reading a lot about issues. Whats the general consensus? Problematic and cheap or a few people just got lemons?

I'm wanting to rip the ones open I have but I don't want to deal with returning them online if they are junk...lol.

I also want to know if all these movie toys are actually IN the movie? Because if they are repainting other toys just to sell under that banner I sure as hell don't want them!

Umm wouldn't have been better to ask this question before you ordered the toys?

Of course not. I got them all 25% off with free shipping! lol

If they are breakable they'll stay sealed!

I only have three. The strongest issues is with preview Starscream. He feels like he will break if you even try to touch him. Swindle is ok, just a bit hard to pose, IMO. Bumblebee is the best. Almost has a G1 feel, except for the plastic. I miss diecast

Brawl's tabs are driving me nuts. Another one of those innovative designs that looks great but holds together poorly. Jazz doens't look nearly as good in person as he does in the pics. But all in all not bad.

Is there a list of what is and is not in the movie?

Yup. Brawl is nice but those damn tabs! I get him the way I want and then when I move him to his display place his arms come out. ARGH!

Since I have Barricade's arms correct now I don't hate him as much as I had. I wish they did something different with his hands and he is a bit top heavy.

I really dig Leader Optimus Prime and Voyager Ironhide. I also like Jazz although I wish his arms/hands were different. I have pretty much every wave 1/2 figure now and overall I'm pretty happy with everything.

Why would you order toys you have no interest in and don't even plan to open?

Some people are completeists and some feel that they will be of value so they keep them sealed. I am a completist myself but I love to be tactile with the objects of my affections.

I don't see the movie toys increasing in value seeing how we are already flooded with them.

The movie isn't out yet. Consider this, many fans are very much against the designs still, other people are still iffy and others yet don't know the toys are even out or if they even want them. Lots of younger fans will have to see the movie before they get excited about the toys. So right now we have an entire month advance on all the people that won't buy until the movie impresses them enough to care.

That's why we are currently flooded with figures. If the movie is successful the fandom will change a great deal and there will be a lot more competition. As for them increasing in value movie tie ins rarely do really. Usually the market is to saturated and everyone that wants the product is able to get it. Though there might be some that are harder to find and more desired thus more valuable but really I wouldn't bank on it.

And of course as I always say toys aren't good investments. If you want to invest your money buy stock or something.

That newly revealed Longarm figure looks gorgeous.

I know I'll be getting every figure of the characters who appear in the movie, with a few exceptions (debating on whether or not to substitute the Leader Megatron and Prime with their Voyager counterparts). Few of the non-figure charaters, like Knockdown and Dreadwing, have piqued my interest.

Real Gear figures I'm thinking of skipping, except for the one that looks like Lazorbeak.

As for the FAB, "Gobots," and other toys, no thanks.

I haven't seen the movie so I can't really gauge my interest in collecting them. I'm using the premise that the movie will be at least decent. And I have the money to blow so why not? lol

On top of that I don't want to pay out the ass later in case I do want them. Just like I didn't start collecting transformers until about 4 months ago. $3000-3500 later I still think had my mom not tossed my collection out I'd have a whole lot of money still in my pocket...lol.

The only one I currently have is Jazz. And it is a LOT of fun, even if it has some kibble articulation problems on the knees.

Just picked up Jazz and Barricade with the mini Frenzy. Kinda disapointed in Jazz's bot mode, not as poseable as I'd like. Barricade is a good figure, except for beign top heavy, like somone posted. I'm not keen on the "power punch".
