New Images of 2010 Botcon Gnaw

While this year's Botcon theme happens to be 'Generation Two', Fun Publications isn't shying away from including characters from other eras. The box set includes Sky-Byte, a Robots In Disguise character and remold of Energon Sharkticon. They've taken the same figure and repainted into a Generation One character, or should we say army, as the colors fit both Gnaw and the Sharkticons. Gnaw will likely be an attendee set figure, whether he will be three-packed like the Botcon Sweeps is a question to be answered for another time. More pictures of Gnaw have been acquired by TFW2005 member Locustreign. Feel free to check some of them out below....

I think this looks kind of so-so, just doesn't excite me much. I wish we'd get a new Classics/Generations mold.

Made of epic win. I love these guys so much. The Sharkticon mold is one of the unsung molds of Energon.

Looks so much better than Sky-Byte without the stupid mouth...

I'll be looking to buy one of these guys, but I'm not attending Botcon. If anyone's attending and will be looking to unload a Gnaw figure, shoot me a PM! Even willing to put down a bit of a deposit for a trusted (well-established) member.

It's a good repaint. I don't like the green though.

While I just never liked this mold much, I do like the G1 inspired color scheme.

The mold: WIN

Making a homage from it to an unrelated figure due to similarities in name: FAIL

It's like making a homage to Dinobot from a construction machine due to RID Grimlock being one... Err, wait, that happened too :P

Well, the alt mode does look like a shark...and the original Sharkticons were sorta...vaguely shark-looking. Very vaguely.

He's okay, I guess. I thought we get the five figure set and one attendee bonus figure, but it sounds like there might be more? I hope this isn't the attendee bonus. First of all, it's the same mold as Sky-Byte and it'd be better to have more unique exclusives, and secondly it should be an Autobot since the box set contains two Autobots and three Decepticons.

The box contains two autobots, two decepticons, and one predacon - as I heard, there are army builder, costumizing class and a few other exclusive figures every year too.

It's unlucky wording in the news post. Gnaw/Sharkticons are probably part of the Souvenir Sets. Here's what each convention has, toy-wise:

1 Boxset, 5 figures
1 Attendee-only bonus figure
2 to 3 Souvenir Sets.
1 Customization Class figure.

Do the souvenir sets come with the Primus Package or do they cost extra money?

I really like the G1 homage on this guy I hope he comes in a set of three, if so I'll be on ebay after the first day of Botcon or at least I hope to be.

They are sold separately. Sometimes, there's some left over (sometimes...) and they are put up in the TFCC store. Otherwise, they often get expensive quickly not too long after the show. (The sweeps sell for 5x-6x what they went at Botcon last year.)

Usually 2 or 3 souvenir sets, with 2 figures per set. Last years, was Elita-1/Razorclaw, Sweeps (set of 3), and Banzaitron/Skyquake.

I expect they'll be 2 or 3 sharkticons in the troop builder set (hoping there's 3, though!)

I'm with Razorclaw on this... love the Energon Sharkticon mold, and love that they're using it for Gnaw & the G1 Sharkticons.

Anyone going to Botcon wanna trade one of these for a Sweep from last year's set? Shoot me a PM! 8)

I'm thinking pictures don't do this guy justice. From previous experience, I know I'm right. At least for my own tastes, I am.
