This is a thread about the greatness that is Beast Wars toys. Feel free to share anything you'd like about 'em.
So during the lull between lines, I've been spending a lot of time filling in gaps in my BW/BM collection... mostly trying to get the best representations of favorite characters that made on-screen appearances. So far, I have:
Beast Wars
- Telemocha-01 (deluxe) Optimus Primal
- Telemocha-03 Cheetor
- Hasbro Silverbolt
- Henkei Dinobot
- Telemocha SP-DX (ultra) Megatron
- Telemocha-02 (deluxe) Megs (because I'm greedy for Megatrons)
- Takara Inferno
- 10th anniv Waspinator (though I really want the Telemocha one)
Transmetal-wise
- Metals Megatron
- Transmetal 2 Optimal Optimus
- Transmetal 2 Megatron
Beast Machines
- RID Megabolt Megs
- Hasbro mini-dragon Megs
- Hasbro Tankor (lame, but good size)
- Hasbro tank drone (awesome sauce, but tinier than the cycle drone)
- Hasbro cycle drone
- Hasbro (deluxe) Jetstorm
What about you? Any favorites, or must-haves, or most screen-accurates, or recommendations?

Also, a recent side-hobby has been to touch up various figures' paint apps to try & get 'em more screen-accurate (with my limited skill set). Here's a few of my recent additions:
Inferno & Silverbolt's teeth defined a bit more (& added a nose to bird-dog):

Added gold to 10th anniv Waspy's mouth, black around eyes, & stripes to the antennae (copying from the pics of the telemocha version here on Seibertron's photo gallery):

Any suggestions on how to improve 'em? Also, would love to see any pics of your BW/BM collection to add color to the thread.

I love the show but I only have a shelf full of the toys. One day I'll probably make an effort to complete the cast of BW then maybe the characters that continued into BM but the toys don't really excite me, even thought the show is the best of all the cartoons IMO.

Is the series on DVD or VHS? That was a time in my life when I was driving, chasing girls and committing other extrcurricular activities.

Yeah, Riblet. All three seasons.
I love BW toys. Some of the best, IMO.

Beast Wars!
Loves me some BW. I had collected a lot non-show toys during the run, but I could never seem to find show characters. Fortunately when I started collecting again there was eBay.

I have Rampage, but he's still in storage. I have
plans to accuratize him this summer. I also plan on displaying the non-show characters once I find room...
I've already done some work on everyone to make them screen-accurate, but these five got the most work:
Airazor Rattrap RhinoxTerrorsaur Waspinator

While I love the show, I find the toys to be the least interesting out of almost any and all lines.
I actually sold all my Beast Wars toys about 2 years ago. It was...liberating.

I love the supremely silly Japanese original figures that transform into penguins, rabbits, giraffes and so on. From a more serious perspective the first gorilla Optimus Primal is a great figure with tons of cool features, Cybershark is lots of fun with his Warpath-style chest cannon and Transmetal Terrosaur is suitably evil-looking and posable.
Jetstorm/Tonbot is probably my favourite though. His robot face is pretty ugly but his dragonfly mode is fantatsic. I'm a big fan.

I can see that. They aren't my favorite toys to fiddle with either. I do love being able to own figures of characters from a TF show (and comics) that has to be my favorite. They're some of my favorite parts of my collection overall. Just curious, knowing you've sold your BW stuff, are you still chasing Botcon 2006 Megatron or did you finally land one?

I am fairly indifferent when it comes to the toy. However, I have only heard great things about the series. I want to at least own those even if I don't completely go for the toys.

Picture related:

I really need to take some pics of my collection now that I have really spaced it out and done the whole "Neo-G1" thing in its entirety. I now have just the 2006 BC toys on two seperate shelves that allow them to really be seen.
And yes, I got Megatron right before his prices went to absurd. I mean, it was expensive, really expensive, but after I got mine, that's when he shot into the $1000 dollar range.

Nice, I've been kicking myself for passing on the Buzzsaw and Laserbeak that year. I just didn't have a lot to spend with it being my first Botcon and not really knowing what to expect. I still need them. It haunts my dreams. I need to get myself some new (read:more) cases to display my stuff properly. The ones I've got are FULL.

DUDE, those are some great-looking displays and customizations! I checked out your links/galleries too... amazing. What kinds of paints did you use?

I can see why it might not be your thing. I've come to love the Telemocha & 10th anniversary figures particularly (paint jobs & details). Regarding the line in general, I also think some of the transformations are very interesting & have fantastic articulation for its day (e.g., Silverbolt). I wish I had seen your BW figures on sale, as I'm just now filling in a lot of the gaps in my collection.

I love them too, especially Transmetal (1-2) figures, plus some must haves: BWII Magmatron, Razorbeast and Lazorbeak.

I've always had a soft spot for the Beast era figures, they helped start my collection. Still got a fair sized set of 'em.
Optimal Optimus, Telemocha 01 Convoy, TM-02 Megatron, Tigerhawk, Transmetal Rattrap, Universe Cheetor and Dinobot, 10th Anniversary Rhinox, Dinobot and Tarantulas, TM2 Dinobot, Scarem, Sonar, Fox Kids Transmetal Waspinator, Quickstrike, BM Megatron, BM (deluxe) Optimus Primal, Tankor (X2, one's being customized into Shockwave) Scavenger (the basic class Vehicon) Most of my old Thrust... probably more, but those are just off the top of my head...
Oh yeah, and Big Convoy.

My Beast Wars has mostly Japanese stuff, as they were cheap and abundant at the time. My first one was actually a European exclusive "Transmetal" Claw Jaw. I fell in love with his markings.

Since then, it has gradually expanded. My list includes repaints of BW molds in other lines, but not figures inspired by them:
Beast WarsSonar
"TM" Claw Jaw (missing weapon)
Tigerhawk
Scorponok
Beast Wars IIApache (B'Boom)
Tasmania Kid (Snarl)
Scuba (Claw Jaw)
Big Horn (Bonecrusher)
Megastorm
Dirge
Thrust
Magnaboss
Tripledacus (broken missiles)
Beast Wars NeoLongrack
Stampy
Break
Sharp Edge
Guiledart

I did get rid of some of my Beast Wars figures, but I still have the hard to find Beast Machines toys up in storage. I did not like Beast Wars until the show, which changed my mind about the line completely, now I regret getting rid of my BWII and BW NEo toys now.

WOAH!

Who are those guys?
Obviously, I see they're BW Optimus Primal, TM Optimus Primal, Air Attack Optimus Primal and Nemesis Prime (is that one right?), but what repaints are those? Takara?? Those are awesome, especially the Air Attack OP!

Quick opinion question: Are Quickstrike, Rampage & Depth Charge worth picking up as figures? If so, Hasbro or Takara versions? I'm not sure I have enough space for larger figures for my BW display, so I'm just considering picking up Quickstrike because I liked his goofy "ornery cowboy" personality in BW.

Quickstrike, Rampage & Depth Charge are so awesome!
I have a Hasbro MISB depth charge in interested but all 3 are a must have.
I think Japan do a way better job with paint apps so I go with Takara....

Depth Charge is definitely worth every penny, the BW version gives the character back faithfully. I recommend the Hasbro version, I have that. If you can, buy the BW version, not the Universe - the latter is much cheaper in quality, rubber parts, missing weapons, wrong colours, etc.
Quickstrikes snake-arm is heavy, it tends to fall down, but an awesome toy nevertheless - the translucent plastic make him look even more poisonous.
Rampage - I have the Takara version, and I have issues with the rubber threads - they look like they start to age (started to turn grey, and the touch is bristly too), I don't know whether that's an issue on the Hasbro version too though...
