I am trying to identify an old transformers toy I had as a child. I am describing it from memory, so forgive me if details are lacking. I remember he was a car, and I believe he was either red or blue (or possibly both.) his legs folded up into a read half of the car, and his arms clicked into places as the upper section of the car, with wheels on the side of his arms. The head was hidden by a foldable piece in the front that then let you click the head up and into place. The head could be pushed in and out of place with a spring action. Any ideas who this old robot is? If it helps at all, I was a child in the mid/late 80s.

Notes so far: Some people suggested Cliff jumper, but this mystery bot is not cliffjumper....

I can't understand why anyone would suggest Cliffjumper. Apart from being a red car he doesn't match at all!

To the casual guy a car is a car From the description it could be Cliffjumper (more memorable character), except the transformation would have been reversed.

I was going to say Smokescreen, until you mentioned the spring action.

My exact thoughts. The whole time I was reading the description all I saw in my brain was the Datsun transformation.
