Question concerning rubbing alcohol

I intend to remove some paint from a few TF's (eg. Recon Ironhide).

I've heard Isopropyl rubbing alcohol is the best to use, but i've no idea how to use it without doing damage.

Also, is 70% proof the way to go?

Sorry if this has been covered before.

70% is good, but takes some elbow grease!

Brasso works well in small amounts as long as you are removing paint from a colored plastic surface (paint over paint will remove both layers - not good). I know it works well to remove printing from LEGO pieces.

I also hear Pine Sol works well if you soak it for awhile.

The roof of Recon Ironhide is painted black so you'll have to be careful there. It's also a slow, relatively painful process...just so you know before you start.
