Titaniums: To Sell Or Not To Sell

I feel like I'm at bit of a crossroads with my collection these days. ROTF is finally (sort of) over, we're beginning a new and promising line (Generations), and I just got a shiny new (gently used) bookcase to store all my lovely figures on. It's all good (great, in fact), but I'm feeling as if my collection's a little bloated. Especially with the movie line, I've been picking up a lot of figures I don't really need just because they look cool. Most of those can stay for now. I recently unloaded a few figures I didn't need, but there's still one big glaring issue: 6" Titaniums.
I ended up picking up several of these when they were still in stores, with the intent of getting all the War Within ones, and a couple I really liked (Rodimus Prime). But here's the thing; none of them are on display. I didn't have enough room to begin with, so they were put in storage, with the intention of putting them out when I have the space.
Well, now I have the space, and I'm not so sure I care to take them out again. Let's be honest: They're kind of ugly. It was a good idea at the time, but the sculpts are just kind of odd-looking compared to other lines.
I still don't have two of the ones I intended on buying, War Within Optimus Prime, and War Within Prowl. Prime is one of the most popular and seems farily hard to come by for a good price, and Prowl doubly so because he was a TRU exclusive.
I do like the ones I have. Especially Rodimus Prime, because he's my favorite character, and Grimlock, because I felt very lucky to find him in store.
But do I like them enough to keep them? Should I put in the time and money to get the last couple? Or should I just save myself the effort by getting rid of the whole lot and focus on more important things?
I suppose I may bring them out, set them up, and see how I feel. But I'd definitely like to hear some opinions.
Forgot to add: With the War For Cybertron figures coming out, they can fill my desire for pre-earth representations of G1 characters, so this is as good a time as any to unload the Titaniums. However, there's no guarantee that Hasbro's going to keep making more after the initial 4. Maybe I should keep the Titaniums alongside, so at least that way I'll have more characters covered? But they'll look like ugly stepchildren compared to the WFC guys...

I didn't get all the Titaniums, just the ones I really liked (Rodimus, Fallen, and Scourge). So they display just fine in my collection ... at least IMHO. I also got Thundercracker ... the only one I regret buying.
I'm a packrat, so I'm loath to let go of figures even if I can't display them. I've got Universe 1 Razorclaw, TM2 Dinobot, Universe 2 Sunstreaker, the WSTF Dinobots and more all in storage with absolutely zero intention of letting them go ever.
That said, though, being a packrat isn't for everyone. And, let's face it, selling off figures might allow you to buy even more expencive figures you might be more willing to display. If I was one to sell anything, I'd break out all the Titaniums and play with them a bit. Transform them, put them on temporary display ... live with them a bit. And if I was still thinking "yeah, I'd rather have cash", then I'd sell 'em.
But, if it were me, I'd never want to let go of anything, even if I never see them, and would ratehr put them in storage with one or two odd ones on display with my regular collection.

I'd agree put them up, fiddle with them, see how you feel. If you still want to let them go, the do it.
But you may just like what you see and i;m sure they'll look great with the WFC figures.
I have to say out of the 7 Titaniums I have, the only one I'd give up is GI Joe Megatron. He's the only one I truly dislike. Thundercracker, WWI Megs, WWI Prime, Optimal Optimus, Rodimus, and The Fallen all look great together.

Sell them.
I sold off WW Prime, Magnus, Prowl, Grimlock and Megs, along with Rodimus and "Menasor" and G1 Magnus.
They fall apart easily, they have mostly poor head molds, small fists, have crappy alt modes and are just a bit to short compared with deluxes.
With WFC Prime, MP Grimlock, Generations and FP stuff, the cash is better to have than the Titaniums, IMHO.

Actually, that reminds me of something that happened once.
I have Fallen standing on top of Unicron (in planet mode) on top of a shelf. One day, because I was feeling extra stupid, I decided to adjust Unicron without taking him off. So he fell. Right onto the hardwood floor. And he "shattered". All his limbs and kibble just went everywhere.
And then ... I was able to reconstruct him. Not even the plastic "wings" were damaged! Everything just popped right back into place.

Same situation, same story. I sold all mine. I only have one unloved WWI Starscream left and no one wants to buy him.

Sell them all - i've gotten rid of all mine, except for G1 Magnus and Hotspot.
May get rid of them in a while too...

Thanks for the input guys. I think I'll still take them out for a bit and see how I feel, but if anyone else wants to weigh in, feel free.

I say keep them. I think you are wise to at least keep them and fiddle with them for a while until you truly decide.
I keep everything just because I won't get nearly what I want for them if I sell. If they start selling for good money, then you might get rid of them since you obviously don't have huge feeling about the line. I'll admit that I am EXTREMELY HAPPY that I never got into the Titanium line. They are awkward and weird, IMO.

I kinda like the Titaniums. Sure the QC was nonexistant but since they are the only version of WWI characters we will get, I will proudly own them. Even the G1 characters were pretty decent too.

I love WWI Grimmy. He's kinda hard to find now, but I use him as an alternate universe Grimlock in my storyline for my toys.

I agree, they had many issues, but as a display piece, they aren't bad. Just put them together for a nice group shot. They are now my siggy pic.

I love the war within series so I would never get rid of my WW titaniums, if you have all the WW seekers sealed, I would gladly take them off your hands. They are the only ones I never got.
send me a PM if you want to sell them.

I've been looking for Titanium (1986 movie) Scourge for a while now - the only chance I had to buy one I didn't have the cash on me, and I have regretted it ever since.
Currently the only Titaniums I regret buying is Titanium Jetfire - he falls apart too easily, even if he does have a cool transform scheme. Then again, I deliberately avoided Soundwave, GI Joe Megatron, and a couple others. I also don't regret missing Titanium Ultra Magnus because I managed to get ahold of The FP City Commander for my Classics Magnus.

Titanium Scourge is great. Well, his legs are wobbly and he can really only go into one pose. But he's great for Scourge and for a Titanium toy. But now that I have Botcon Scourge, he's gonna have to be placed with my "B" team of Unicrons. But Titanium Scourge is one of the few "must havs".
Titanium Magnus is okay. I suppose if you don't have City Commander he's a must have. Sadly his alt. mode is tiny and he's so rare that his figure's become quite pricey the last tiem I checked. Still, if I didn't have CC, or if I had soemthing against 3rd party products, I'd get him.
Another I like but didn't get is Cheetor. He actually looks like the best version of Beast Machines Cheetor.
WWI Prime and Megatron seem tempting too.

The last titanium that I want to get is prowl. He is a great looking figure. Nice bot mode and interesting alt mode.
*Edit* Also Jetfire, need that one too.

Completely agree with this post. Prime and Megatron (not the GI Joe one) are awesome. Cheetor has a very simplistic transformation but it works.
