Do Wingspan's arms really not fold up?

Hey guys, been looking up Wingspan(do not have the figure), and the more I look at him, the more awkward his Alt. mode is. Reason why: the arms on his side look pretty bad. However, Pounce's arms fold in(don't have his figure either). I've seen a few video reviews on how they transform, but nobody actually says Wingspan's arms don't fold in.

But the pics look like Wingspan has a joint just like Pounce!

So really, is it just molded to look like a fake joint, or is there a joint actually there, just no one uses it? If it's the former, then that's kind of a dumb decision, design wise. However, if it's actually the latter(though I've got a feeling it isn't), can I see a pic of the arm folded in?

Thanks for your help! Hopefully someday I acquire these guys.

It's a fake joint. It's nothing more than to make the clones look exactly the same. and if you look closely, the paint fades on the bottom, while it should be black plastic like on Pounce if it had that joint.

I have to say Wingspan has the worst bird mode ever.

Considering the fact that it's a mold from 1987, I'm not sure your complaints are really valid.

surprised the clones idea has not been Classic-ified. Seems like an easy target for repaints.

I'd love this. The Clones were always a cool concept to me. Glad I've got em.

How would you do it though? Make two triplechangers and then limit some features on each? That would be cheating, wouldn't it?

Maybe there could be a basic transformation that had interchangeable parts to let it form a different alt mode depending on a couple of extra pieces added for each of the toys?

if they were single packed figures the different parts could even be gang-molded so that it was just one run that needed different parts put on at the assembly line.

You wouldn't need to. The original concept can still work. They'd need to be separate molds just like the original figures though. Your idea would be fine too. It makes me think that one character could use his clones alt mode and blame the other for the shenanigans he caused.
