WOOT! Someone PLEASE tell me when Drift is coming to the East Coast. Dying to get him and Thrust. Now all we need is a Classics Blitzwing and we'll be good for a time...

Sweeeet. Excellent galleries!

Drift looks excellent. Looks very well articulated, and I it's interesting how they did the neck. Overall very nice aesthetic, I like the old-school looking details - vents, etc.
Thrust looks good too. Too bad about the upside-down wings, but otherwise looks great.

OMG! Gimme gimme gimme! Now!
I can't wait for BotCon, where this guy along with the rest of Generations and Powercore will most likely be available!
I wonder how the Blurr retool will work. We know that he'll have a new head and guns instead on swords, but what about the big sword? What will they replace that with? The small swords are easy. But what can they clip onto his back besides that sword?

Amazing galleries as usual!
This is a mold that I have really warmed up to in the last month. I have a question though. Is it actually set in stone that it will be repainted as Blurr? I ask because I will wait for that instead of buyin this one. I think it would be a mean looking figure with a little more color.

A bigger gun, duh!
I'm kinda iffy on Drift.
On one hand, he looks totally awesome.
On the other, I don't know who he is.
I'll have to make up my mind soon.

Anyone else think this head would look great as a Cheetor or Tigatron head?
As for Drift himself ... I'm not a fan of the character at all, but this toy is incredible! It's awesome. I got the biggest kick out of the large sword being able to be sheathed on his side as well as the small swords. Very poseable. Check out his neck in the pics too ... it's detailed, not just a ball joint. Only complaint ... no waist to turn, but other than that it's an incredible figure.

I dunno. Maybe.

Drift's story was told in a Spotlight, wasn't it? Only spotlight I've ever picked up was Kup, which I think came out just before FCBD that year.
Really liked going through this gallery, though. Figured this'd work out well, but damn... It would have made sense if he had a turning waist, but I don't feel like this figure suffers from not having one.

It most definitely does not. It's very poseable despite that. I love the neck. the fact that it's a real neck with details on it and not just a ball joint was extremely impressive to me. Many fun things about this toy.
Still don't like the character, but I also felt that way about ROTF Skids, Mudflap, and Jetfire, though I'm not sure I'd put Drift in the same category of dislike as Skids and Mudflap.

Two things that I can see that could help differentiate Blurr with him would be;
1)take the shoulders and, if you can, turn them strait up.
2)Take the doors and (if on a ball joint) twist them around to put them on the back.
with that I could see this be a believable Blurr with the new head.

Nice gallery as always, and nice going on the details of the sword.
Speaking of which... I goofed a bit with an earlier translation. The translation of the kanji on the sword "天下無双" ("Tenka musou") is just "peerless", "unequaled" as it's a Japanese expression. Here's a breakdown:
"天下" = the world; whole country; descent from heaven; having one's own way; the public; the ruling power;
"無双" = peerless; unparalleled; matchless
(According to
WWWJDIC)
It's directly lifted from
Samurai Sentai Shinkenger if I may add.

Awesome gallery!!

i dont know much about this guy, i really like the figure alot. i wonder if Takara will make this? If so, i would like to see chrome swords and abit more detail on the figure. And using this mold to make Blurr
would be great, like someone said do something with the shoulders and a new head and don't forget his blaster and shield!!

If by "Spotlight" you mean "desperate attempt on the part of the writer/creator to get his Mary Sue over with the fans", then yeah.

You know, now that you say that he does look like Tigatron!

But how would you paint him to look tiger-like without him looking silly?

O good grief. The one who created him must have looked at the Manga incarnation of Tigatron, where he was portayed as a samurai, swords and all. Where does his obsession with Japan end?!

Awesome! Beauty!
I hope the shoulder ball joint can hold his arm well.

I kinda figured, and I don't have'im yet. (That'll change once I see he's out though.)

I thought less of that...thing...Mikaela had for a pet than Skids, Mudflap, and Jetfire. Skids and Mudflap could have been quite a bit better than they ended up being, but Mikaela's pet was at least 15 gazillion times worse than whatever the twins could have hoped to accomplish. (I refuse to even qualify that thing as a Transformer...)

Meh...tempted to see if I can pick it up anyway, just to see what the story is...

Seriously, who cares about Blurr? This is our first katana chopping former in ages. I wish Hasbro never told us that Blurr would be a Drift remold, it's just getting annoying.
To end it all. It will work for Blurr. Not for the Generation One Blurr that you might be asking for, but for IDW's Blurr. Drift and Blurr are exactly the same in that genre.

^Agree. If you want a "Classics"/G1-y Blurr, hunt down Cybertron Blurr.

I can see a slight repaint of this guy as a Classic G1 Getaway, replace the swords with a plasma rifle, red tinted windows. Yes it will be another white version of same mold, but with a slight remold and add a minicon transforming to an engine so would it be perfect.

I certainly was thinking Tigatron from his head.
