TFCC Punch/Counterpunch review

Red leader over on the TFW05 boards posted a pictorial review. The head really does look small sitting there side by side with Sideswipe's. Also, why didn't they mod the feet to accomadate the new leg transformation. All they would have had to do was shave down the tops of the feet. I did this myself when I repainted Sunstreaker into Wheeljack to get that same set up, and it works great.

Tiny head or no, I think P/CP looks pretty good. Not too shabby for a remold.

Yep, a swing and a miss from FP. I think I like this custom head waaaaaaaay better:

Even if it doesn't fit in the chest cavity, I would be willing to just pop the head off for car mode. No big deal to me.

How does one acquire such an item? As in, I'd like two of those heads now please. The factory head does look a bit tiny. Not horrible, I just hoped for better.

Oh thanks Primus!! My concern was more about the paint apps on the head then the size of it. Phew. I do like what I see and am now eagerly awaiting this guy for TONIGHT!! Check the tracking and he's on route!!

I'll get back to you on those heads. I borrowed the picture from the Allspark forums. Someone posted it over there.

And yes, the size AND detail looks better on this custom. If FunPub's head looked like this, I don't think we would be having issues.

Thank you very much. Definitely let them know that there is interest in the above mold. I can have money paypaled to them immediately. Here's hoping that these DO get released. :D

I wonder how long it will take before Fansproject or another third party group decides to release a new head for TFCC PCP. I bet a lot of us would buy it.

Anyone have tips on how to fix the crooked chest for the "CounterPunch" mode. I never had that problem with my Sunstreaker, Sideswipe, or Henkei Red Alert, but I do with the P/CP figure. I remember it being a problem for some people with the earlier Sunstreakers.

Quicker? Perhaps. But you are going to be paying a pretty penny. He is very hot on eBay right now. You might be better served letting the rush die down first.

Hmm, well I don't know for sure, but I assume it would only be a matter of opening it up and realigning the gears a notch or two.

Yeup, I kinda fiddled with it last nite before going to bed. I had to move it over a groove and fixed it. I didn't want to get into the figure itself, so I did a lil trick that I do with lighters to make the flames go higher and it worked.

Now that his chest plate is fixed, I actually like this figure. The head is kinda small, but IMO, it's not as bad to me. I do have him in CounterPunch mode, which I think is the more appealing of the two bot modes. I'm actually happy with this figure and he will remain undercover for quite sometime on the shelf.

I gotta say, those pics illustrate how small the head is. I still do want it, but it's VERY expencive right now. Maybe someday I'll get it, if it goes down to something more reasonable.

One tip for the feet that I was trying on Sideswipe: fold the feet inwards so the toe points downwards. This will add stability to the new leg formation.

If I do ever get one, those screws on his waist and legs are getting a sticker over them ... or something.

WOW! looks like this guy is a hit or a miss with popularity cause of the small head thing (no pun intended) and bad paint apps. Well, i can say is if im unhappy with him i might sell mine, but since FP has paused time because space travel to Botcon, i'll just have to wait... :-(

Does anyone think that a 3rd party will do a correct head size? and what about Takara do their own P/PC in the future?

You should be able to make your money back on the figure. He's going pretty well so far with some of the auctions.

As for what you are aksing with 3rd party companies and Takara, those will always be shot in the dark questions. The answer could swing either way. If there would be a 3rd party to make a new head for him, I'd keep an optic out for HeadRobots to do something.

How does this fix work? I have the same problem with my extra Counterpunch.
