News from Botcon: Hasbro Piranacon Set Confirmed!

Nothing's fishy about this: reports from Botcon 2010 are coming in, where our man on the sight Ryan reports having seen the new set of Seacons from Hasbro. They are to be sold in a box similar to past Masterpiece releases in the US, such as Skywarp. This is likely related to the pre-production figures seen here.

Stay tuned for a full gallery, right here at Seibertron.com!

That packaging makes it look like a store exlusive. Wonder if that will be the case and if so who will get it?

This is awesome. I didn't get the TFCC version because I didn't have the money at the time... but I'll take them for $50. Too bad the box isn't as nice as the TFCC version :-( I think I wanted the box more than the figures

Since it's a reissue, it's a safe bet it will be exclusive to Toys 'R Us. I'll wait on reviews on especially Overbite who suffers from mold degradation. Otherwise, easily skipped since I have the original.

Still no Snap Trap (which is actually ok for me since I have him but no Seacon limbs)?

I don't care who is releasing the Seacons as long as i get my grubby paws on them. I only manage to get Overbite and Nautilator back in the day, but now here is my chance again.
I know its early for this question, but has a release date or month even been set yet for these guys???

Likely. It also gives me an excuse to get over to TRU someday soonish. I'd like to try to pick up the Insecticons as well. (I don't expect that to actually happen, but if there's a chance I can make up for not buying them with Perceptor, I'd like to.)

Hence the big red woohoo out of me last time I posted here. Only I didn't have a chance to not have the cash.

RodimusConvoy13 wrote:Too bad the box isn't as nice as the TFCC version :-(

The only way I'd have kept the Seacons in package is if it was the TFCC box.

Its great we are getting the Seacons. Only ever had Nautilator. Still do to this day. though e's realyl in bad shape.

My only gripe here is the package. The package will only be good to throw away after its opened.

Still its nice we are going to get the Seacons. and this may open the door for other combiners like Menasor and Devastator.

By the way, anybody notice it's now "Decepticon Piranacon"? Hasbro is losing basic trademarks left and right here

Very cool, here's hoping it won't be a store exclusive or we will never be able to get it at a decent price over here.

Not getting the TFCC Seacons(due to the high price) may have been the best thing I ever(or is it never?) did. This is awsome  .

If there is, it's probably the original G1 boxart, as it would fall under Encore or a general reissue line. Speaking of which, any news on that Predaking et all?

Autobot and Decepticon are added to names not so much because Hasbro lost the trademark, but it is usually used on names that haven't been used in a long time in order to strengthen their claim on it.

If Hasbro didn't have the name then they couldn't use it no matter what they added to it.

Seibertron.com has just received images from Botcon thanks to it's owner, Ryan. Below are images from our gallery of Hasbro's new Seacon set shown at the convention. Differences include a chromed sword, and an alternate paint deco. If you'd like to compare, check out our Piranacon gallery here, and view the new one from Botcon 2010, here.

They look so good. I know the colors are an eyesore, but doggone it, it's the Seacons. They're must own, especially at $50.00

Many folks have wondered if the Targetmaster stands are included. I agree that it's a good question, but we've no reason to believe they won't be included.

1.) That box bottom has plenty of space to accommodate them.
2.) TFCC was able to include them in their set, and this is most likely being made off of those same molds.
3.) We have no proof saying they aren't included, and just because they're not on display, means nothing. If anything, the people putting up the display might've been in a rush to get it done.

I love TransFormers, I do, but we all know how cumbersome the task is of transforming multiple figures and getting them just right for display. Especially on the scale that Botcon is doing. So, yeah, if they missed something, I can't blame 'em.

Though, I do sincerely hope the stands are there.
