Man, Straxus has needed a toy for so damned long. I just wish I was actually in a place in my life where I could go about getting all the toys I want... I really wanna cut it down to pretty much Classics/Universe/Generations and Animated and a few other random toys. ****, man, this is awesome. I can also easily imagine what they will do to make him Skullgrin, as long as they use his Monster Pretender head a a basis for the toys head.
What is the logic behind the name Darkmount though? I know there's a connection, and I think it was where Straxus had his base, but my mind is tired and frazzled.

Hasbro lost the trademark for Straxus and since Darkmount was the name of his fortress in the comic,i think it`s a good choice.

The whole fiasco dredges up fears originally invoked by
Zombieland, but I guess all things considered, if I have to give up my name at some point in favor of a place I have lived, I have some reasonable choices; could be a lot worse.

Going by places I've lived I could be called Hudson or Montreal.
I think I'd go with Hudson.

And I could be Hell Paradise Michigan.
And whether or not you've heard of him, no toyless G1er deserved this Generations treatment more than Straxus, period. There were indeed better characters in the toon and comic, but all of them would be at least possible to take a stab at kitbashing a toy of. Straxus was too unique. Despite having an alt mode likely based on Galvatron's, until now the only toy that had one close to it was Energon Shockblast/Sixshot, but his Shockwave homage was so good that it made his upper body unworkable for Straxus (though appropriate, since Straxus ran the show on Cybertron in Shocky's absence in Marvel continuity). Yet his lower body is still debatably closer to Straxus' than this Darkmount toy's. If only Generations had room for Voyagers...
Say, since you guys at KO Toys were first to post this, you'd also be first to tell us if some Chinese enterprise was cranking out some unofficial 2X "reproductions" of lil' Darkmount here, right? That'd be about in scale with those Shockblast legs. Heck, make it 3X or 4X so he could really beat up Blaster, and not just the Action Master! I'll buy a whole case of real Darkmounts anyway so HasTak can't complain I'm somehow stealing from them! I just need Straxus bigger! BIGGER I tell you! He's the Lord High Governor of Polyhex, and shall tower over my collection!!!
Oh, and this new Skullgrin's bio had better mention his movie career. I wonder if there's a big Marrowack or Cubone toy I can hollow out into his pretender shell...

I have a feeling no one likes his third mode but me. Why? Because except a few photos from BotCon, the only turret images we're getting was the very first image we got! The hell, man?!

I must have missed the photo of the third mode. So Darkmount is a triple changer? Sounds good to me!

Seeing this guy up close and personal at BotCon made me want him. He is quite impressive looking. I like that their able to engineer TFs to be able to use 2 handed weapons now. Very nice touch. Makes his weapon look more impressive.

Pics make him look really nice.
Hope I can hold off buying him till Skullgrin comes out before I decide which version of this mold I'd prefer picking up.
