How Do You Like Your Classics?

The Classics line is supposed to be an updating of G1 characters but they seem to fall in to three (or maybe just two) camps:
1) Cartoon Accurate
eg Seekers
Delux Prime
Cyclonus
These are more cartoon accurate than toys of the 80s.
2) G1 Toy Style
eg Inferno
These guys are really just G1 toys with better articulation. Inferno retains the blocky G1 aesthetic but is as poseable as anyone would need. His transformation is relatively simple yet interesting and elegant. If he had a ladder sticking out of the back of his head he'd fit into group 1 as well. I can't think of any others in this set right now. Perhaps he's in a league of his own!
3) Modernised
eg Voyager Prime
Voyager Megatron
Ironhide
A total re-imagining with some homage in the design.
I would be totally happy with cartoon accuracy and updated articulation but what about your guys? How do you prefer them?

I love my classics. It's like the G1 toys I wish they were. They have better articulation and it's like I'm reliving those great years in the 80s when I'd see the old ones on the shelf for the first time.

Universe Classics are the best!! I honestly only collect G1 and Universe Classics and movie/generations line. I grew up with the G1. I don't collect from the cybertron, armada and beast wars era. I never really paid attention to the cartoons of that era. sorry..

I think mainly I really enjoy the ones that look like their G1 cartoon counterparts, but I'm a sucker for a well-updated version of a character. I think then that they rank like this
1: Cartoon accurate
2: Updated
3: G1 Toy Accurate (Though I still REALLY want Universe Inferno... I never saw one and therefore never got one)

I like what they're doing with them, making them work with today's technology and asthetics. I'm not really into cartoon, or even G1 toy-accuracy that much. I want to take the figure in my hands and go "man this is such an awesome redo of XXXX"
Every single one of the upcoming classics will be like this. I can't wait.

Like I like my women, well articulated with a really nice box.

lol.
I pretty much don't care as long as it's generally colored and shaped like the character and up to par with today's standards. I'm all for creativity too, so if they want to do something new or interesting with a character, why not? Just as long as it still resembles their G1 self.

just in that order.
I prefer the cartoon/comic homages but with the better articulation. Hound, Cyclonus, Mirage, all great molds. Some look good with the original toy just updated, but not so much. Most of the re-imagined figures are not my favorites, like Ironhide and Prowl/Smokescreen/Streak and Octain.

If I really had to pin it down, I'd have to say I'd like reimaginings with G1 cartoony goodness as the main inspiration. Like Bumblebee. Totally new body, but he's the best representation of G1 BB ever. The headscult totally sells it and that's almost just what any of them needs.
In that veign, I'm totally down for the non-classics homages such as Animated style characters as Neo G1. Or City Commander as Magnus.

Honestly I classify Classics the same way I classify all TF's
1) Like it, got it.
2) Like it, want it.
3) Not worried about it, don't own it.
and the rare:
4) Not worried about it, but own it for some reason.

Ha, he's one of my favourites from the Energon line - no accounting for taste.
Delighted with the classics line in general, prefer cartoon accuracy myself - Henkei for cartoon, Hasbro for comic.

Or a Sinclair c5.

So do I, but I prefer cartoon accuracy over all. I still have plenty of the other types but I have my preferences. That isn't supposed to sound preachy!

Nice one! However, I can't resist asking if these women are made of real-feel materials and real hair?

I prefer them to just be transformable--none of this crap like Universe Galvatron, who takes forever to do anything with and practically begs to fall apart.

I want my Classics figures to look like the G1 figure in robot mode and have a similar alt mode. As long as they fit those stipulations I am all for it.

I like them to be fairly accurate to the cartoon, but with the better articulation of todays figures. I think the Classics Seeker mold is one of the all-time best molds in TF history. I also think Hound is amazing.
I think Mirage is one of the best updates of Classics line too though. He is G1 accurate enough to not have you wonder at all who he is, but the alt mode is more modern. The bot mode is just unbelieveably good.
There are pros and cons for each category, really. There have been very few that I just didn't care for.

I just wish the cars were Basics so they fit in with the G1/Reissues.
I still prefer the Diaclones. Seem more realistic in alt mode. I'm not too worried about articulation.
I'm happy with any Classics that fit in with the Diaclones.

I don't. Every single series since RID has had the majority of their cars as Deluxe size. And I prefer them that size - otherwise what do you do with motorcycles, forklifts, and so on?

I like that expanded the classics beyond the g1 concept to include figures from the comics as well as other source marteral.

I like toy accurate, new imaginings that are true to the source material of the original cartoon and comic book characters.
What I really like is when they throw in extras that make them perfect.
IE- Tracks flying car mode, Jazz sound system speaker weapons, the Targetmaster for Cyclonus to name a few.
