If there's one combination that Takara really love it's Primes and clear figures. In fact they're releasing no less than four in the near future: the Sons of Cybertron set and the Animated Sons of Cybertron set.

Now TakaraTomy's official website showcases both sets.



The Animated set will be getting a general release at the end of July. The set will cost 4,725 yen.



The Universe set will be available at the Chara Hobby event in Japan at the TakaraTomy booth on the 28th and 29th of August. After that remaining sets will be available from online store ToyHobby Market. It will cost 5,000 yen.

Interestingly the figure in this set is called Optimus Prime, not Convoy, implying that he is not the G1 character but a Movie or Animated character.

Really odd. Could this be seen as another step to replacing "Convoy" with "Oputeimasu Puraimu?" Also, Rodimus is just called "Rodimus", not the usual "Hot Rodimus"...

They could call it "Poop and Hurl" and I'd still buy it. Clear Rodimus is really awesome.

You know what they say about shining a turd, right? Well apparently no one told Takara-Tomy that. Chromed Poop and Hurl it is!

I'd love to get both sets. The only bad mold is the classics deluxe Prime, and it's really not too bad itself!
