New HFTD Gallery: Voyager Class SEA SPRAY

Much like from Generation One Powerglide to Universe Powerglide, Seaspray has been on the receiving end of a steroidal injection. Now Sea Spray is a towering Autobot, and transforms into a sea carrier fit enough to carry Scout class vehicles from shore to shore. He's a Hunt for the Decepticons Voyager Wave 1 release, and has made it's way into the toy galleries of Seibertron.com. What you'll be seeing in this gallery is comparisons between G1 Seaspray and this incarnation, as well as photos with all of the HFTD Autobots. 145 images await you in the links below!

The more I see this guy, the more I like him. That robot mode is clean as hell! The scuba mask just makes it even better.

I'm buying 2 of this guy (1 MISB, 1 to open). Same for his buddy Breacher!

Did I mention that this is going to be my Classics Seaspray? No? Well then...

Seaspray is going to be my Classics rendition of the original character.

Now that we've got that out of the way...

Does anybody know if the Henkei version will have a more G1 paint scheme? Typically I buy releases such as this, and then six months later end up buying the Henkei version because it is more G1 accurate (e.g. Powerglide, Silverbolt).

Saw about 3 of these at the Pensacola, FL TRU. I was gonna pick him up, but I went for the Smolder/Chopster instead. I'll pick Seaspray up next week when I get paid.

Universe Legends Brawn, Movie Brawn, or what?

Well, I can read minds after all... All part of the "world-domination-thing" Megatron set me up to... crap, said it again... :-s

Funny thing is, the night before I was attempting to design Seaspray in Banjo & Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, along with 5/6 of the Decepticon Seekers, Optimus Prime (2 versions of him, in fact!), Hot Rod, Armada Megatron, Warpath (A red-brown repaint of Armada Megatron), Blitzwing (can change between jet and tank, awesome isn't it?), and Sandstorm to boot. Now trying to design Ultra Magnus, Scourge, and possibly Cyclonus. Wish me luck!

I'm not going to buy the Hasbro Seaspray because of the size inaccuracy (did same with Powerglide) but I do like the figure.
I agree that Takara Tomy will probable release him in a more G1 style - if those bronze/gold parts were yellow a la the G1 Seaspray I would be tempted.

I'm also worried that if I buy Generations Blurr or Scourge, Tracks, Jazz and Grapple when they come out (planning to definitely get all), then Takara Tomy will release them again within the next 12 months with the G1 accuracy I prefer as they did with Classics.
But like most TF fans, I'm not a patient guy and don't like waiting for things that aren't for sure

Looks great. The only thing that bothers me about it is the "SEA-SP RAY" stuff. It just looks silly to me. I'd honestly rather they had just written out "SEA SPRAY" than what they did, but whatever. I'm considering this guy, but I'll probably end up passing on him and spending my money on Generations.

I believe this mold was kind of intended to fit within the Classics/Universe line. Just sayin'.

Anyway, I like the mold, but definitely not enough to buy. I think it is a great rendition of the character, but I never was a fan of this particular Autobot and I really have no use for hovercraft.

Does anyone think of this figure as a "what if sea spray was a prime?".

I know a couple of people have already said that they want this figure for their Classics collection, and I share that sentiment. But does it really have the aesthetics to join the Classics? I just can't tell.

I think he does. I'll be putting him up on my Classics shelf, that's for sure.

I think a -lot- of people are planning this. ;D I know I am. I really feel like Hasbro only stuck him HftD because they wanted more larger characters that were new in the line, he certainly looks more designed for Classics/Generations.

Not going to get him, but he's a beautiful figure. And his diving fin feet! So awesome.

Is there a confirmation from Takara that they will be making their own Generation line? if so, i can wait for perfection.

None yet, they're too occupied with their 2010 Campaign, among other things.

It's not going to happen this time. It's a "Movie" figure in TT's eyes, and 9 times out of 10 they don't bother with their spin on movie figures:

Excellent gallery of an excellent figure! Can't wait until these start showing up in Canada.
