it's because the original character used the nosecone as a sort of arm shield.
You can see it in IDW comics too.
In the TR toy, you'll see that the nose cone has a 5mm peg on the base, that can attached to Overlord's shoulder.

Lol, that much I figured (pix and instructions and original cartoon help..) thing is, the actual cockpit that already detaches etc, has another piece at the very tip that can detach, quite easily. Was wondering if there's something behind that or it's just a design quirk.

Hey! Check it out!

I think I found the correct Transformation for Thrilling 30 Generations Voyager Springer in helicopter mode.

Check it out! It is even more beautiful!

I think the designers created a design, and then someone realized that if they didn’t follow that step then it looks more like the G1 toy, so they left it out. However, I am convinced that this is the correct Transformation for Thrilling 30 Generations Voyager Springer. All of the other Springers are mistransformed!!!

Has anyone seen this transformation before? Did I just miss it?

The directions don’t show it. But it fits perfectly, looks like wings on a helicopter, creates greater change from the car, and looks good.

Check it out!!!!!!!!!!!

You can also leave the mini wings back to get even more air underneath:

Here is the standard transformation

You have to slide the panel about 90% forward and then turn it.

On your pics it looks awesome, but I remember that when I tried to rotate the panel more than 70°, it resists to the point it looks like it'll break..

Just a silly observation.

We laughed at MP Ironhide's soft buttocks made out of his wheels.

Well, turn out G1 Crosshair did it decades before.

Yeah, it wouldn't stay at first more than the 70 degrees, and feels like it might break. But then it finally went into place. The panel moves nicely now and goes back into place no problem. It could break it, but once you get it in place it seems to work well.

The red ones would look better on Ironhide. As is it looks like he's wearing a pair of The Artist Formerly Alive as Prince's assless pants.

His wheels are more near the small of his back, but they are still a bit awkwardly low, which is why I still use the Takara voyager as my "Classics" Soundwave.

I've got the Titans Return Percepter. It had been quite some since I had bought it and I remember someone saying Percepter had a tank mode. So then I looked online and went on youtube, I was watching Optibotimus . I was hopping he was going to show all the official modes, and so he did!
When I saw it I laughed.
Mind blown :michaelbay:

Just took my Megatronia off the shelf while watching Thew's videoreview, and I just noticed that you can connect her sowrd to the combiner's back.
Basically you can use the "cut" in the sword's peg to connect the sword to the ladder.

TR Hot Rod's back pipes are removable, Animated Prow's Shurikens, Animated Shockwave's guitar pluging into the inside of his arm, and Classics Sideswipe's gun plugging into his shoulder

I don't think so on the Back pipes being removable....well not without breaking something,

So THAT'S how it's done1 I'd heard about this too with Victorion, but never really heard how to do it

Hidden features not mentioned anywhere except the concept art for Metroplex as far as I know
The Knee armor does unfold and transform into platforms for smaller robots to stand on in the Titan's robot mode
Image

Dedicated pegs and pegholes are found for this configuration, I apologize if this was documented before on the release of the toy and request evidence that it was

Just got G1 QUICKSWITCH and I found a 7th mode.

DAH BEAST

It work so well, it's amazing it's not an official mode. Even more so than the wolf mode!

They could even added an opening jaw under that "nosecone" and some eyes to complete the head and make it official. A missed opportunity, but eh.

I have to tell the truth, it's actually the first time I'm hearing of this.
Looks a really cool feature.
It's really a shame thinking about how many features and gimmicks removed from Metroplex to make Fortress.
Apart from the double headmaster gimmick and the turrets that can become guns, Fortress barely has nothing particular for play.

Really, think about it:
Metroplex has:
-hidden turret in the shoulder
-hidden turret in the arm
-platforms hidden in the kneecaps
-shoulder cannons that can become guns
-gun that can become shoulder cannon
-hidden repair arm in battle station mode
-city quarters in the legs in the city mode
-ramp in the chest
-chest unfolds for the helicopter platform

Fortress has:
-secret compartment in the arm
-chest panel with hidden turret
-legs cannons that can become guns
-double headmaster gimmick

they could at least leave the cannon in the arm (that would still be canon with Metroplex) and some stickers for the city quarters in the legs. It's sad that they "gimmicked" the mold down, making him just basically a big action figure.
I got it becuase I missed the first release of Metroplex, and I wanted at least one version of the mold, but it wasn't such a very fun toy to play with, especially with the transformations.
Trypticon is a lot more fun toy.

I discovered that TTC Transformers could be easy to figure out without looking at the directions if you put enough into effort into it. I had a gift card for Target, so I picked up five today and wound up with enough extras so I can give one to each, which means that's two more give-aways for my mom's great grandkids. As for the other three, they were Decepticon Berserker, and Autobot Squeeks. The first two were fairly easy, but I'd rather not talk about Autobot Squeeks because I wouldn't put it past ExiKaiser to bash me for having a hard time. Yes, I had to look on YouTube; and the only reason I'm saying that is because the kid who made the video said this one turns into a moped; and I like to think of him as a scooter. The Gobot Scooter was better even though he probably wasn't as good at hand to hand combat, but he did seem to have more of a humanoid appearance.

I'd like to see Hasbro put out a Transformer that could turn into a biblical vehicle. How much would they charge for an customer made Transformer that turns into Noah's ark? The reason I'm bringing up the idea of a biblical Transformer is because when I saw the title of this thread today, it made me think of a title to a gospel song that I believe Steve Green sang about how when we were children, we dreamed of Christmas mmorn and all the gifts we knew we'd find, but we never realized a Baby born one blessed night gave us the greatest gift of our lives.

Much as I love the Lord and all, I don't think toys typically made for Japan with the west as an increasing after thought (don't think so just look at store shelves) is much of a market for that. Maybe something similar but from another company (like 3rd party, but technically not). There used to be all sorts of transforming toys besides TF and Gobots in the mid 80's, let's bring in some more that aren't just putting out expensive premium fake versions of hastak characters (no offense to 3p fans, I just can't afford that stuff).

If there could be a Thomas the Tank Engine combiner (not hastak), why couldn't there be a Noah's Ark that turns into a robit?

What is that even? A llama? Weird but a cool find for unofficial mode.
