Just wanted to see how people display there collection of transformers. how many of you keep them in boxes and how many take them out and set them up. I personally take mine out of the box to display. I feel its a better way to really see how the transformers toys really are set up.

And for great justice.
Seriously though, why not take a look at the
Collections forum?

Out of box, robot mode (Shelves are standing room only) By series where applicable, by character in a couple cases.

Hm, 99% of my toys are taken out and on display. So far, I only kept 3 in box. They're MIB Shockwave, MIB Superion, and MIB Megatron. I think it's because I pay big buck for those bots.

Mine are out of box, robot mode(except currently Alternators Ravage, but that's a space saving issue). No organization currently, but that's because I don't have all my 'Formers with me at the moment and I need new shelves large enough to hold my entire collection.
Back when I had a room mate, however, we had both our Formers(and a few other lines on the extra shelves) on 2 huge bookcases: 1 for Autobots(mostly by continuities), 1 for Decepticons.

95% of mine are out of the box. The ones that aren't are either going to be sold, are too broken to be on display, or are waiting to be unpacked.

My whole 2007 Bayverse collection is on display on the shelves, as well as a select few ROTF (leader Megs, voyager SS, and Rampage) and two Classics (Mirage and Cliffjumper). MP Starscream has his own spot on the edge of a bookcase.
The rest are MIB (about two thirds of my entire TF collection), because I just don't have the space to display them all...and it's far easier to wipe the dust off a box or blister pack than a bot with movable limbs and little crevices.

All my figures get opened (although they have to wait a while sometimes - it's nice to spread the joy out so I have things to look forward to) and displayed. They get transformed, reposed displayed in whatever mode I feel like displaying at the time.

Out of spite
No seriously, I keep them up to piss off my wife!
The are separated into a couple of sections, Primes/Magnus Autobots, Cons and Minions of Unicron.
Mostly all of them in Robot mode, a couple in alt mode, with minicons and micromasters lining the front, I basically have one long shelf.

I've got three shelf units, most of which are Transformers now. The left one has Animated Decepticons on a single shelf, Animated Autobots above that, and Cybertron mode figures (Arcee, Ratchet, Optimus and Megatron) lining the top. On the right, RotF Decepticons, RotF Autobots above, and a progression of Bumblebees along the top from classic Camaro to HA. The middle holds my Masterpiece Skywarps and other HAs, along with various Legends and Legends Devastator.
All are unboxed and displayed as dynamically as possible.

I have them sorted by the reason I bought the toy, and then by either line or faction.
So most of my Animated toys are on two shelves - 'Bots and 'Cons. The exceptions are the Dinobots and Lugnut. They are together in another place because their scale is so screwed up. I also have some other Animated toys that are in my other "collections". All of these are displayed in robot mode.
Then I have a bunch of Scouts on my dresser, along with Deluxe Movie Chromia and Activators Fireblast Grimlock. These are toys I bought because I thought they were nifty. Hasbro should have just called the "Scout" class the "Nifty-Keen" class and be done with it. These are all in alt-mode.
Then on another bookshelf I have my emergency Vehicle collection. One shelf is for Movie emergency vehicles, which means Ratchet and Barricade, and a lonely TRU exclusive allspark power Inferno. These are a mix of vehicle and robot mode. The voyager Ratchets (Origional flavor, rescue, and Blackened Cajun style) are in robot mode, in the back.
Then I have the other Emergency Vehicle shelf - Some classics, some Henkei, whether they're in robot mode or vehicle mode depends on my mood and which mode they were in last when I was photographing them. There's also my additional Animated Ratchet toys - Rescue Ratchet, Takara Earth-mode Ratchet, TRU Cybertron mode Ratchet, Activators, Takara's keychain Ratchet, Happy Meal Ratchet...

In some big giant display case thing I got for free from the hair salon next to my bro's old tanning salon.
It has like 14*14inch cubes 5 tall and 6 across. Its really big. Any bigger would not have made it in my house down the hall and into the room its in(my toy/comic book/die cast room/office)
Anything from Universe 2.0 up that I have is 99% boxed since I never had room to display it all anyhow. Haven't brought over the 170 or so original G1 I have as well.
Shelves will be going up. Stuff I really really want, I try and get two of where I can keep it fresh and 1 to display.
Nothing in there right now other than what I threw up out of packing boxes on the shelves in no particular order and more boxes of figures on the floor and closet lol
So just kinda do it and organize how u like to see it by what u like, etc.
