Help with Micromaster Overload

Greetings all, I recently bought a very good condition loose Overload. I knew from the seller that the nose piece that flips out from under the trailer was loose but it is waaaay lose. I tempted to seek out another Overload if not just the trailer part and just glue both in both modes.

But before doing so can anyone give me some council on some other things I can do to compensate? :CON:

Not really. It's just a friction piece that wears out over time.

Mine is really worn, and it took only a few years from the day I got him.
