It seems like the new paint is more geared towards Predaking than the Predacons. That is, it's meant to make the gestalt look really nice even at the cost of the individual figures.

Still glad this is being re-reissued, but the garishness and possibility of GPS makes the old yellow version seem like the better choice :/

As explained on the previous page, the chance of GPS is minimal to non-existent. It's not even the correct shade: GPS-type plastic is the darker, bronze-colored kind.

Based on the weight (over 5 lbs) we are all assuming die cast.

I'm pretty sure the U.S. release had die-cast initially and then switched to plastic later down the road like many of the 1986 figures.

Ah, thanks for the clarification... I only ever owned G1 Razorclaw, and he was plastic through and through, so I must've had the later release. Didn't even know it came in diecast parts until I picked up the Takara reissue giftset last year.

5 lbs?! Whoa... that's one big boy.

I though prior to the 2004 Predaking Reissue, the original Takara Predaking was always plastic in Japan. Only the U.S. had die cast metal until they switched to plastic later on.

I think that's correct, but I'm not 100% certain.

WOW!! this looks great and the "Gold Coloring" sure beats the Crayola sunshine yellow they used before. Anyway, pre-ordered though TFS along with Predaking's new head and wings!!! Not missing a thing for Predaking!!!! Why? cause he's the King!! LOL

I think you may be right here... Razorclaw's face isn't even the right color. I'm hoping that's remedied in the final version.

I'd like to introduce you to my friend the brick wall. :BANG_HEAD:

Haven't you noticed that ever since the first post appeared about GPS(ok assumptions- I havn't been around THAT long), every time a "gold" colored figure is released people panic.

on a side note, I do wish it had the yellow, if for no other reason than to be true to the original. However, I will gladly purchase as I never owned the orignal, and couldn't be bothered to hunt down the previous reissue at a decent price.

Now quit playin with your paintbrushes HasTak and give me some accurate reissues.
