I posted the following on another board:

http://www.amazon.com/Hasbro-81110-Tran ... 894&sr=1-1

For all those who can fork out an additional ten bucks for the figure or who want to skip the obligatory waiting period before its widespread release--supply and demand; ah, capitalism--Leader Class Megs is in stock and shipping on Amazon.com.

Edited to say: My apologies if already posted.

That's odd. I just ordered Megatron from Amazon last night, and it was $39.99 plus shipping. (I ain't gonna wait for their freebie crap...takes forever)

It might be a fluke. Let me check my order though, cuz if they jacked the price, I ain't payin'.

EDIT: Well, I checked. They did up the price, but I must've beaten them to it, because they haven't adjusted my order at all.

Amazon.com wrote:Item(s) Subtotal: $39.99
Shipping & Handling: $5.86
-----
Total Before Tax: $45.85
Estimated Tax: $0.00
-----
Grand Total: $45.85

They better not try and jack the price up on me, or cancel my order and force me to pay higher, I won't do it.

Anyone know if they will, or can??

No way will they increase the price you paid. For the most part, Amazon.com is a reputable company and has been (because of that) my first choice for most of my recent Transformers purchases.

I mean, I placed an order for some Real Gears via HTS.com two weeks ago and my order is STILL pending.

So it was $39.99 last night, huh? Dang, I thought they had just made the figure available this afternoon. I swore I checked their website yesterday evening--when no Leader Class Megatron was available.

Well, I went ahead and forked over the ten additional dollars and bought the figure. What the heck, right? If I found it at a local store for $39.99 I would still have to pay sales tax; and if I found it for the same price through another online retailer I would still have to pay the cost of shipping.

With my Amazon Prime membership, two-day shipping will be free, even though I'll still be ten dollars poorer.

If anything--factoring in the sales tax and/or cost of shipping through another online retailer--I probably only overspent between two to four dollars.
