A Seibertron Energon Pub member from China that attended the Cybertron Convention at China, informed us that the earlier images showcasing the gold version of G1 Fortress Maximus it is not a luck draw figure.

He informed us that belongs to a Chinese collector that sent his toy to a factory and painted it gold.

Cool enough, but bad news for those hoping this meant a re-issue in the near future.

im crying of sadness because for once, i thought takara would reissue fortress instead of spending 1,500 for a 2 foot piece of plastic awesomeness :BANG_HEAD:

It must have cost some dough to dip that bad boy in gold plastic. My dreams of seeing Fort Max reissued are shot down, now it's off to start saving $1'200 for a G1.

Maybe Takara didn;t have one to display so they used Jaundice Maximus instead?

Someone had the brains to know what a Lucky Draw Maximus would get for attention I'm sure.

Playing devil's advocate.

I would like to see more gold figures on the market. I bought a gold plated classics Starscream at Botcon just because it looks nice. As far as value, I think the whole "Lucky Draw" concept is overrated. Half of the Lucky Draw figures end up collecting dust on e-bay because they are bought by investors asking unrealistic prices. Im sure thats not what the creator intended when they created the concept of gold plated figures.

I suppose the reissue talk will die down almost as soon as it started but to be honest much as I would LOVE a chance to add him to my collection, I don't know where I'd have put him.

I'm already struggling to find space in my Tokyo apartment for 2010 Unicron when he arrives in September so no idea where Fortress Maximus would have gone
