A video review has been made and published to YouTube of the upcoming Generations Megatron toy, which of course is based off his War For Cybertron design. Peaugh goes into detail on the toy, and shows it off in both modes. To view his opinion, click here, or scroll down.

It won't be long before this Decepticon leader infiltrates YOUR local retailers, if you see him, make sure to tell us here!

Ah Megatron, well known for his sparkling sense of humor.

The figure actually looks better than I thought it would. Too bad I'm not a megatron fan :P

That was my favorite line in the whole game. XD

Pretty cool figure by the way. The same can be said for Prime, I just picked him up at a BX yesterday. :)

Sucks that his gun is incompatible with other figures.
I was hoping that all of their weapons could be swapped out, like with the game.

Okay, now I'm impressed.

He's even better than I first thought.

I have to admit that Hasbro's offerings this year are a mixed bag, some good, some "meh", but the WFC figures have all been top notch.

Not one, and I mean not one single one of those guys has let me down.

If this trend continues, I could see WFC being the next collector figures. I think we're going to see a Classics level surge of love for these guys.

Very nice video. As much as I love WfC, I have been on the fence about Megatron and Optimus. While Optimus looks very good, he's just too small. And Megatron . . . His alt-mode works well enough in-game but I doubt it took much ingenuity to figure out how to turn a toy robot into a toy . . . symmetric pile of mish-mash? I wouldn't even want a larger version of him (I'm especially thinking of an unfavorable contrast to one of my many childhood favorites, the very solid green and purple G2 tank). The unfamiliarity factor--if you want to be generous--seems a likely pitfall for any Cybertronian alt-mode but both the WfC Optimus and Bumblebee toys worked out much better, IMO. Soundwave even looks cooler than Megsy. Pity, too, considering the bot form is not only true-to-game but pretty neat looking . . . if rather short.

Kudos to peaugh for giving us an early review.

Good review. I hope they come out with Leader class or Supreme class or something...these look good but they're small.

Surprisingly impressive. The transformation is simple but effective, articulation is decent, and the design is good and fairly accurate. I'm still bothered by the pale shade of grey plastic they used, but otherwise he looks great. Definite buy.

Wish the figure were bigger-would have made a great "classics" Megs. I couldn't stand the nerf version we got and am still leaderless.

But finally, a great looking Megatron-definite buy!

Definite buy. I'm digging the Generations line completely. It would be a great line to slip a few reissues into(Deszaras, Star Saber, Overlord, Fort Max). I really want them to reissue Deszaras. Victory is my favorite series & I can't afford a C9+ off the secondhand market. I get sidetracked easy in the morning. :P Bring on WFC Soundwave & Trypticon

I'm glad this fig is a deluxe. He definitely looks cool enough, but like so many other Megs figs, the engineering isn't overly impressive. And as a deluxe, it's a lot easier dropping $10-12 for the character and looks than a $40+ leader fig that's somewhat lacking in the fun department.

Definitely waiting hopefully for this one... needs to be painted first, but he'll look awesome fighting WfC Optimus.

Man, I love these War for Cybertron figures. The WFC Optimus Prime is one of the best... just needs to be bigger though!! Come on, Voyager release!

Real nice, only issue I have is the very simple transformation. I mean BB and OP were deftinely harder than this.

You know? I don't mind his simplistic transformation, to be honest.

It's a nice reprieve from the excessive transformations, yet still has a really nice bot and vehicle mode. I welcome Megatron as is.

Don't get me wrong, I love a complex transformation, and Optimus and Bumblebee fit that. But Bumblebee is so fiddly, everything has to fit here or there and you have to make it fit.

The end results are great, but the process becomes a pain.

True. That's why Prime is so fun. He can swap weapons or even put all 6 on his body.

Cant wait to pick this up when it comes out in Aus. Shame they are only ding deluxe class figures for this series though :(

it would have been nice for megatron to have a dark energon gimmick though, possible future release maybe?
