Take a look at this post on TFans first:
http://www.tfans.com/talk/index.php?showtopic=68590&hl=You can clearly see lightpiped eyes, and it seems that the face is molded slightly different. It also matches the face on the box here:
http://www.seibertron.com/toys/fullsize ... =1&image=2Yet in Ryan's gallery, you see a different face with no lightpiping here:
http://www.seibertron.com/toys/fullsize ... 1&image=68Ryan and I have the same version of Ironhide...so...which is the correct version, which is rare, etc??

I think they are the same. The cameras and lighting are different making the photos appear different.

My Ironhide has a lightpipping panel on the back of his head but no light shines through his eyes. And what the hell kind of face does he have? Crazy.

Mine also. Why did they bother putting it on the back of his head, yet nothing shines through??

I dunno if busted is the right term, but I think the eyes were painted over black, either that or they arent cut out. I cant tell??? Either way it's yet another mistake and I agree on the QC thing.
BTW EVERY BB I've seen in the 3 stores I went to were the one that will break.

Yes, it's like they painted over Ironhides' eyes.
My BB broke also. I knew about the problem, but I didn't heed the warnings.....

The light piping just sucks. I grabbed my mag light that I keep handy, because I live in a dank pit, and was looking at my Iron Hide and with the mighty mag lite you could barely see the light coming thorugh. It's just crappy light piping.

So then the flash in that pic posted above ARE the blue eyes showing through. It just took unatural lighting to see it. They aren't painted over black at all then?

Yeah, like this is the first Transformers line to have problematic figures. I swear it's like you all bitched about the movie and now that you've seen the trailers and realized it's going to be awesome you start bitching about the toys. Just have to have something to complain about!!

First of all I still hold strong to my original gripes with movie and it is not like I'm some sorta crazy ass that complains about nothing, people are having a lot of problems with these figures and I think the QC is just horrible.

Um...no. I bought every single figure from the last 3 lines and I never had a figure break and to me shoulders screwed on backwards or things like that are assembly erros, and that doesn't bother me since thepieces are still good. These toys are not going to last, I mean how many people have blackouts with stress marks, how many people have broken BumbleeBees? What concerns me is that how many people will buy TFs for the first time and think that all they do is break?

I only have four figures so far and I haven't had any problems yet. The only complain I have is with Starscream's head being so visible in alt mode. But I've only had good experiences with them so far.

Maybe it's just a problem with the initial wave of figures. I'm with Getter: while some figures in most lines do have problems QC wise, the movie figures seem rife with them. And I also can't see some of these figures lasting very long under strenuous play conditions, like with kids, or those of us who transform them frequently. I remain optimistic however.

Yeah, lets just hope these problems are first run only issues.

I've had figures from each of the last 3 lines that broke or has stress marks. Maybe you were lucky in that regard. I've got 9 figures from the movie line and I haven't had any problems at all, maybe I'm lucky in tha regard. The point is this isn't the first time there's been problems. There's less figures in this line than previous lines so maybe the flaws are just more apparent because more people are buying the same figures. I'm not denying this line seems to be having some issues but I do think the past lines had issues as well and I do think people are getting a little more worked up because it's the movie toyline and there was already so much backlash against the movie designs.

About the light piping, it works on mine, but you have to have the light coming in from above more then from behind. It's kind of weird, but it seems to work.
