Ok, about Transformers TFC #6 Megatron Book Reissue, if it is new and unopened, does it have tape on the box sides? and also on the plastics holding the toy?

Yes. It's got adhesive tapes on the seals and the blister case within.

Well I got this toy from ebay, and the seller (foreign seller) said it was new, unopened, and the sides of the box were already open when they bought it from a store. But this is not possible?

I own one bro'. All the Transformers from Japan have adhesive scotch tapes as seals. Same with Queen's blade cast off figs oopsie wrong forum.....etc. That product was either a store front display item sold on the cheap side (store front display items fyi are like them appliances being displayed as demo units.) or he is pulling your leg.

Well someone opened it because they do come sealed with a bit of tape.

Since the tapes were removed I opened the box. The tapes from the plastics were removed or replaced, so it seems quite sure that the box has been opened. Is it possible that customs did this to check if its a gun? The seller is from UK, I'm from Holland. Not sure which customs (UK/NL) would have checked. I didnt see any inspection notice, should there been a notice applied if the box was opened for inspection? There is no orange tip on megatron.

When these were released in Japan, they were opened and displayed in stores. The boxes were made to do this.

It's pretty common for these to be opened but not handled.

Well yea, but I don't believe my post says anything to contradict that fact.

I have the no orange tip version. There is no tape on the outside of the box but the inner packaging does have tape. The seller of your item may not be the original purchaser and themselves believed it to be a sealed item. Hopefully your Megatron is O.K..

WELL I really dont think stores actually open the boxes that are taped, then remove the tapes from the plastics as well, but only part of them so that its very clear that the box has been opened, and then to sell them again as "unopened". if they would display then they open only the cover of the box showing the toy. You don't need to open the box for that.
