We are now 8 months into 2010 and with most of the Takara 2010 line revealed now seems like a good time to gather everyone's opinion on the line as a whole. Are you excited, worried, or angry? Are you even interested in it at all? Well whatever your thoughts are feel free to sound off here.

Ditto, can't wait for Unicron, but am not "feeling" Primus at the moment.

The Sons of Cybertron Set is of interest, but I am well and truly on the fence due to the crappy version of Op they used.

Other than that, nothing has really grabbed me. I though they would have used the opportunity to more re-issue toys from the original 2010 toyline, things that might not have "fitted" into encore.

I already have the previous Predaking set and won't drop £130 on another just for shiny paint, I would love to have seen a Cyclonus & Scourge twin pack or even Trypticon =P~

IMO Hasbro have got a little closer to the 2010 "theme" with the Universe "Challenge of Cybertron" set.

Just my two penneth.....

I have unicron on order, but thinking of canceling Primus though and im wondering when and if Takara will do their own version of Generations? it would be nice to see some shinier paint and chrome here and there on the new figures.

The 2010 Campaign is pretty nice, except for that ridiculous cash in of Sleep Convoy.

The 2010 Movie line is a big bag of "Meh" except for the possible variations in Insecticon. I'm glad I don't feel compelled to get any.

I had forgotten about sleep convoy, I shudder to think what other uses they could conjure up for that mould.

I'm excited, especially for MP Rodimus, but so far all of the toys have been too expensive. I wanted Unicron & Primus, but they're just too expensive for what they are. Predaking is the only one I have on preorder, and I may have to cancel it due to lack of funding. I can justify it though, because at this point it's still cheaper than the previous reissue. So I guess I'm happy with what they're doing, I just wish I could afford it all.

The only items that're really any different are the campaign items. I'm half and half on it all. Unicron, Primus and MP Rodimus, I'm all about it. The rest, I can easily pass on.

To me, I find the 2010 campaign is a disappointment. The only real interesting and exciting is MP Rodimus. All others are just repaints and a minor retooling in Unicron.

MP Roddie is definately worth getting excited over, but I think I'll wait until 2011 to get him.

The regular Generations releases actually have me much more excited than the specials coming out. Especially Scourge. I think he'll be my Sweeps since I already have Botcon Scourge and Titanium Scourge.

What did you expect, that TakaraTomy would release all new molds every month of the later half year?

I find the end result of the 2010 campaign pleasing to be honest, but I do have two criticisms:

1) The use of MP-4 for Convoy's "Sleep Mode". While I do recognise that the choice was a bit forced, I'd much rather have seen them use the original G1 mold.
2) Predaking. Why is he in there? Sure, he's shiny and all but he could have been a stand-alone Encore release easily.

I find Unicron and the "Sons of Cybertron" concept the strongest points of the campaign (Henkei more than Animated). And the sound base you can order with points collected is a stroke of genius. Primus is somewhere in the middle.

I have to agree. Releasing repaints is a cheap way of celebrating 2010. with the MP roddy coming, I think it took the place of pretty much any new mold we might have gotten.

I think so far the line has been pretty good. with Predaking the only "Huh?" moment of the line.

Don't get me wrong its a great figure, but really they couldn't stick him into a regular Encore slot. I believe he would have been Encore #20.

Every thing else has had a valid reason. Even sleep mode Prime however thin and irrelevant in hind sight it was, its more a lets release this mold a 5th time, (2nd with the trailer) and make some more money off of it. Perhaps a G1 gray prime would have been a cheaper alternative, but I think G1 Primes have now saturated the market. MP still has demand to satisfy.

Now, as I said in another thread, why haven't they "Encored" or "2010 Special Editioned" Hot Rod and/or Rodimus Convoy? The mold is their as evidenced by the prior releases. This is the time to put them out again. I know, Buy an MP Roddy, and we'll throw in a free G1 Hot Rod? How's that for a deal.
