Nope, Urine Magnus is clear yellow. I saw one myself at Botcon.

Nope not Shining. The Armor/Traler section was all translucent yellow (hence the name Urine Magnus). No green and no solid parts. The Prime can was also yellow though not translucent. With dark gray and black. Not UM White.

Either someone went nuts with their palette and repainted a regular UM, or it may actually be a Prototype. Because even the Diaclone versions didn't have that color scheme.

As a huge UMagnus fan, when I first saw that auction I was like holy moly, Umagnus prototype! But as I scrolled down to the pictures, I realized the copyright fine print said "China". But according to the seller listing, he said vintage.

So I decided to email the seller and confirmed with him whether this was the original 1980's Umagnus or the 2001 Reissue Umagnus (which does have the same copyright as this prototype, China). The seller did email to me back and told me that he was not sure as well. He also said if I know which version this prototype belong to let him know so could correct the listing.

The strange thing about this Umagnus prototype is that it has the 'Made in China' fine print and the smoke stack of the cab is trimmed down just like the TRU. Personally, I don't think this prototype is original from the 80s but the 2001 Reissue prototype because of the fine print.

Regardless, I'm saving those Ebay pictures for future reference for all Umagnus fans should it turn out to be a real prototype and not bogus.

didn't notice the small smoke stacks....u are on to something. I think it is the 2001 Proto, and not the 1984.

Yeah the smokestacks are wrong if that's a vintage proto. I'm willing to bet money it isn't. Weird mishmash of stuff though. If it was a reissue proto, those missiles would be longer. I got nothin'.

Yeah, this UMagnus prototype is puzzling:
1.You want to say it's the Takara 2001 Reissue Prototype, but if that's the case, how come the smoke stack is trimmed down?
2.You want to say it's the Hasbro/ TRU Reissue Prototype, but if that's the case, how come the missiles are not elongated?
3.You want to say it's the vintage Prototype, but if that's the case, how come it said China and have short smoke stacke?

If anyone can shed some lights that would be awesome. For starter, I have never seen an actual prototype picture of either the vintage UMagnus or Powered Convoy. So if anyone has the link, post them here.

Dang! I missed the smokestacks too.

I'd say #2. And Being a Prototype, I can imagine them not having a set of elongated missiles handy at the time it was put together.

Definitely not Vintage, and unlikely to be a Takara Proto. No reason for the shorter smokestacks.

Of course it could potentially be a mix mash. Perhaps an actual Re-Issue UM Cab, with a Proto Trailer from somewhere else.

the trailer is the test shot, but the test shot cab is missing. Looks like the cab might have gotten sold before the trailer and they are using a test shot of the US reissue of G1 Ultra Magnus. it's a mish-mash.

I believe it's a fake. Smokestacks are the give away. Why? Not the shortened (obvious giveaway) but it is verrrrry fat. The 1984 version are kind of thin.

You can ask him(the seller) for a shot at the back of the fully transformed cab of the Optimus figure. I won't immediately say what you should find but the original 1984 mold is sure as spit doesn't have any.(And it ain't the "gap"/hole on the portion that sticks out his butt)which the original mold didn't have any.

Update on my research. If the seller/product is indeed legit, the product he is selling IS the 2002 Ultra Magnus Commemorative series prototype not the 1984 version. The 2002 release does indeed have the 1984 embossed copyright so make no mistake, this IS not the 1985 release. Why it has the short missile launcher is beyond me.
