whats yer fave tf from armada? and is there any story behind buying your armada transformer?
for me, it was armada starscream. i was 16 and i was at target, i never bought a toy that was 20 bucks (or was he 14 at the time?) eiether way my mother allowed me to buy it.

i thought he was pretty cool. the cartoon was okay i did like how they make starscream a sypathtic character.
thats the only fond memory of getting armada starscream. mainly because he was my first starscream transformer i ever own.

I think my first Armada toy was Star Sabre. I thought it was pretty cool that three jets formed a sword. I think I got Armada Starscream next, and a few of the other 3 pack minicons down the line.

I loved how Prime had the remote controlled trailer/pants transformation, but I'd have to say my all time favorite Armada figure was Scavenger. I'm not much of a gimmick guy but his brick lower body was totes worth it, with that rolling, stomping feature. But I guess I have a thing for bricks, I love the Overload figure, I admit it.

Unless you're blinded by nostalgia (and I fail to see how that horrid show Armada could possible conjure feelings of nostalgia in the first place), Deluxe Optimus Prime is probably the only Armada figure that's any good. Of course, he's closely followed by Unicron. How any other figure from Armada could be considered "good" let alone "great" is beyond me.

other Armada figures might be considered good because humans have differing opinions.

I like Jetfire, and his Pants Mode for Optimus. I have the Powerlinx versions of both. Favourite Armada TF is fairly difficult. I like Predacon, but that's down to the mold and me not owning BW TM Megatron. Galvatron's pretty cool because he looks like a tank version of BW Megs.

Mold-wise, "Bendy" Prime and Unicron. And I WANT the '1986 Movie Accurate' Unicron figure, whatever they're calling it!

Megatron, but then I only have Megatron and big Prime, but then they're the only figure I want from that line!

I kind of agree on that one, though I think the Micron Legends Scourge (which is the version I have) is leagues better than the Armada Nemesis Prime. Mainly because of the beige plastic that Hasbro decided to use instead of Takara's gray plastic.

Magnus is still far cooler though!

Jetfire was fine if only they fixed his Gundamesque face.

Its hard to pick out a favorite, there where many good molds there. Granted there were quite a few bad ones too. but to say the entire line sucked just prove how little people know about the line.

Super Base Prime is awesome. His Super mode with Jetfire and Overload is just awesomesauce. And I love Overload too. The headmaster gimmick is great.

Bendy Prime is also very cool. Heck he's so good he kept getting repainted through Classics.

Tidalwave is also pretty cool.

Probably Megatron, with Tidal Wave a close second. I just thought Megatron was a really cool looking figure, in both modes. It's been a while since I could say that about a Megatron. Come to think of it, probably the first time ever. And Tidal Wave just looks badass in aircraft carrier mode. Robot mode is good, but not great. All the others are good to average, Jetfire, Prime, and Starscream being on the better end.

For me it is Tidalwave and Overlord. They're awesome figures, and despite Overlord's lack of posability he makes up for it by having an awesome mini-con figure.

However, I do keep all the mini-cons with my Neo G1 collection.

Edit: I completely forgot to mention that another great mold is the Super-con/Deluxe Optimus Prime figure. This guy is crazy posable, great detail, and an awesome mini-con to boot.

The ones that come apart the fastest in a blender. *murdered* Okay I jest, but I'll be honest in saying that I adored Armada during the time it was around. Looking back now I realize just how bad it all was, and I never had much chance to get any of the really good one's from the line. I have a Tidal Wave that I got loose from a local garage sale, but without Ramjet around to get the full value of his gimmicks he only really stands as passable. Apart from that, the only other Armada figs that I still get enjoyment out of are Demolishor and Cyclonus, armed each with the land military and destruction mini-con teams.

Starscream, Cyclonus, Demolisher, Overload all rocked, plus this was the intro to minicons yay!

Tidal Wave's a good one, no question. His splitting into three parts gimmick is great fun, and despite not having knees he's still a good size, and looks awsome. However, I do have the Energon version, and that is a better color scheme in my opinion.

Mini-cons are great fun, but it is hard to pick a "favorite", since they're kind of meant to be enjoyed en masse.

Unicron is a FANTASTIC figure, but I kind of don't consider him "Armada". That's just the line he happened to finally come out in.

But enough dilly dally, my fave figure is...Sideways! Got him a couple months ago(Sonokong version), and I just love the figure. Articulation's a little itaffy, but there's enough for him to have some posability. The transformation is simple, smooth, takes under a minute, and you get a pretty cool looking bike. Finally, his Mini-cons really complete the package. They don't have alt. modes, but combining into a driver that looks really good and has good articulation makes for great fun. Then there's the face/faction switching gimmick, and that really, really takes this figure to a whole new level. He's no Counterpunch(who I don't have), Doubledealer, or Animated Shockwave, but it works, and to me this figure ranks above Cybertron Sideways in double-agent points.

And it would seem I accidently double posted. Blast.

Enough!! I Like most of Armada/Micron Legend. By the way there are two variations of Armdad Nemesis Prime. One has a less beige chest piece. But the Micron Legend version while more show accurate is kinda dull to me. But for $10, I got a complete one so no complaints here.

Latest acquisition:Micron Legend Shockwave (Tidal Wave)


Most of my Armada pieces are now the Micron Legend Version. I also have Micron Legend Sideways, and the rest of the Armada Beast Wars guys.

Unicron. Even though I have the energon and classics versions ... whatever. Best figure in Armada. Great articulation, great gimmicks. And great price since I got him on sale both times.

Dead End is my favorite Minicon. I also liked the Star Saber, although I have the Dark Saber and the Energon Saber molds. Right now Classics BB is holding the Energon Saber ... or trying to anyways.

Armada was on when I started collecting, but none of the molds really appealed to me. I even waited until unicron was sold for $30 before buying him ... but he's definately a fav of mine.

I have all 3 Sabers. Powerlinx Hot Shot has the Star Saber, Megatron of course wields the Dark Saber, and I gave the Energon Saber to my Energon Rodimus, it seems to fit perfectly.

Oh yeah, I forget he's part of that line - I don't have him displayed near Prime and Megatron and he's the only one I've ever looked at and thought "I want to buy him". So yeah, changing my answer to Unicron.

Since this is in the toy forum, gotta assume ya mean with Armada figure.

My 1st favorite Armada mold is Armada Galvatron because it's nice to have a deception leader that has a nice attack/battle alt mode. I choose Galvy over the Megs colored version, but that's just personal preference. I have both and enjoy them thoroughly. I only have 1 minor gripe about him and it's the fact that he has no knees, but that doesn't detract from the awesomeness that is this figure. He has a great fearsome presence, is imposing in bot mode and has minicon ports out that waazooo!! He can catch and contain them in his leg compartments, has electronics (which is NOT a selling point for me, but nice), and best of all he can combine with Armada Tidal Wave...which brings me to my 2nd favorite Armada figure.

Tidal Wave (Micron Legends purple vers), is my 2nd favorite figure from the Armada line. I just prefer this version of the 3 out there because it comes down to personal preference, and I like the purple and grey best and when I have him linked up with Armada Galvy, I think they look the most uniform. TW's alt mode can be split into 3 individual modes and 1 can even be used as a minicon transport (Awesome!). Even better is his single uber huge, airship mode. Normally I have my TF's in bot mode, but this figure's alt mode is tops for me. I'll occasionally have him in this mode just for the sickness that it is. His bot mode is pretty impressive for his size. Minor grip would be the knees (again Armada) and his head lacking any movement.

I don't do figures by line, but more as individual figures in my collection. Some get repurposed to new characters, or retconned into existing characters. These two figures get love from me and get displayed. I think they are the only 2 armada figures that made the cut, so kuddos guys.
