Battle Blades optimus primes Jetfire connections.
Posted: Sat Aug 21, 2010 11:51 amOk, I was looking over my new voyager prime, and noticed a few things, and havent seen them posted anywhere, so I thought I would point them out here. sadly, my camera couldnt take a decent picture if my life depended on it, so where I can, Im usuing siebs pics to show what im talkign about.
Basicaly, after looking over and finding these points of interest, It looks pretty obvious that the new voyager prime was made to have a set of jetfire parts attach to it. weather that means theres gonna be a new voyager jetfire in the future, or weather it was designed, then scrapped, or weather there was gonna be a mass of parts like the japanese voyager one, whos to say. But its pretty clear it was at least designed to do so.
first off, the shoulders. the shoulder panels pull and extend out unnessasarily. the distance they pull out is also pretty far, giving a good round clip on point for shoulder covers, ala the big shoulder pads from the jetfire combo.
the back of the truck.
see those 2 slots? they serve no purpose... as of now anyway. but considering those go up on his back, would be easy to see those being used as a connection point...
also, on his back wheelcovers.
theyre kind of hard to see here, but theres these very large tabs sticking out of the front of those. tabs that like the afore mentions slots, serve no purpose yet.
and lastly, theres the clip on notch.
if you look there in that pic, just under where the curved part of his blade meets the straight bit, youll see it. theres a notch in the truck hood/plate of his left arm. its a cutaway notch with a rounded bit and a groove, on the inside of the plate. the kind of notch where normaly something would clip onto... except theres nothing that clips onto it as of now. and its only on the left arm. kinda like where jetfirs small gun would clip onto the bars on leader prime.
to me, this seems like an obvious fit. this guy was made to combine with some sort of jetfire armor. doesnt mean however that we will see some, as hasbros pretty notorious for designing something with the intent of a toy to do something, then scrapping it in the end. but still, could mean a voyager jetfire on the horison, or maybe its just done to where it can combine with a set like the one released in japan. who knows what the future holds.
