Should I Expect TRU Grimlock Prices to Go Down?

I saw TRU Grimlock at the local Toys R Us and was tempted to pick him up. Should I expect the prices to go down or should I just pick the guy up? I am kinda new to buying at Toys R Us and not sure how fast these might go off the shelves. Thoughts?

Other than a rewards coupon or a buy 1 get 1 50% off sale, the price isn't likely to come down any.

Buy it right when you see it because...

Seems TRU takes a along time to put things on clearance. Buy it now because they may not restock them in stores after they sell out. That would mean buying online, with shipping you'll end up paying more.

I go by the "pay now or pay more later" philosophy when it comes to buying collectibles.

Yep, if it was Walmart then you might have a shot at seeing mark downs. But TRU, no way. Anything that is selling at all will not get marked down at TRU. You better get while the getting is good.

I don't know about your area, but in my area they didn't even last a week on the shelves. I didn't see one until I traveled kind of far north from where I live.

They didn't last a day at the TRU I frequent, damn scalpers. It's ok though, I decided to pass on it anyway.

Hope you still find it when you decide to go back...

On a real note, if you want it, does it really make sense to debate if it will drop $30? Seems like the time you waste thinking about it, is worth more than the $30 in the first place.

I would buy it on sight if I were you.
Whilst the seekers went down in price, I would be very surprised if the same happens to this guy. He sold out quickly at most of the major toy retailers (bricks and mortar and online) in Japan and as the others have said, he will go up drastically in price over the next 5 years.
Personally, he's my favourite masterpiece for size, ease of transformation, loyalty to his G1 design and weight. (I love Optimus and he's almost perfect but he's too heavy due to that unnecessary metal chest and too tall.

As stated already, buy it now if you can find it. Otherwise, you will overpay in the future.

Win a superbowl and get Grimmy to land at TRU for you. Not a bad year, CB. Not a bad year at all.

Thanks for the input. I never bought at Toys R Us so I figure I asked. There were two left, when I checked one store and one left at another.

Hey, it's TRU. If in Walmart like MP Skywarp last time, I would suggest you wait, but hey, it's TRU.
