G1 Skywarp in Generations Thrust packaging at my Local Target???

You read that right. Apparently someone bought a Generations Thrust, opened the package, Replaced Thrust with an original G1 Skywarp, closed the package back up with a little tape and returned it to a Target in the Norcross georgia area. Anyway somehow this ended up hanging on the pegs with all the other new Transformers figures. I just couldn't imagine someone would try to return an original G1 transformer to the store. I guess they must have had a couple of junker Skywarps and saw this as a way to get a generations thrust for free? But still, an Original Skywarp??? I have noticed Star Wars figures repackaged and replaced with different Star wars figures like this before but never with original star wars figures. Before anyone asks ...No I did not do this, and No I did not buy it. It only had the 2 tail fin pieces and it did have the landing gear. But I couldn't tell what else might have been wrong with it. Anyway I took as many pics as I could...enjoy!

Did you report that to the staff? Don't know how Target handles returns but if they keep records, they could get in touch with the guy.

No I did not. Maybe I should have, at least so no one would buy it unexpectedly. Though I thought I might as well leave it thinking that a collector might try to buy it.

Yeah, I had a serious WTF moment when I saw this. From a distance I couldn't tell what it was. Then when I got closer, picked it up and realized what it was, I couldn't believe it.

Someone has not been caring for their Skywarps... I shall smite them.

Good luck with that. I don't even bother pointing out repacks anymore to any store employees. They look at me like I'm stupid for starters. Obviously, I know a little something about Transformers with my tattoos being pretty prominent and usually wearing some sort of toy or pop culture referencing shirt. Second, even if I manage to convince them the item is wrong, the same package ends up back on shelves in under 2 days time. Just enough time for me to go back to the store, see the item again and facepalm. Obviously this black and purple.... what was once a plane(?), is not burgundy and grey. I have never understood how people get away with this. I want to be the guy working returns when this stuff comes up! ;)

It didn't really look like a reissue to me in that the stickers were pretty well worn, and it looked like it had been heavily played with.

In that case, the landing gear on that junker is worth as much as Generations Ramjet. If that were me, I'd hop on that.

I can honestly understand most employees accepting a return of a swapped toy. Who are they to know the difference between one child's toy and another. But how could they possible accept half of a 20 year old toy with that much sticker wear!?

Wow, not even putting the wings in, how can they not notice? Guess this is what happens when people just don't care about their job.

Well, the packaging has pictures usually, just a quick glance should be enough to catch a lot of this crap. Not that the toys always look exactly like the pics, so you could still get people returning say Classics Starscream in a Universe 2.0 Starscream package or something of that sort, but blatant stuff would get through a lot less if the employees just cared to look.

I mean, someone once had a pic of a package where they found that someone replaced the toy with a beehive or wasps nest or something really horrific like that. How does something like THAT happen?

Minimum wage and an eight-hour shift. I work retail, so I see people trying crap like this all the time. I'm increadibly anal about returns, but my coworkers don't care a bit.

Even though, I so hope they'd at least notice an insect's nest replacing a toy.

We need someone to do this with a Lucky Draw figure, that would be all kinds of awesome!
