Why was there a battery on the scene? Did the knock-off have some kind of electronic thing going on or what?

I think the battery is meant to illustrate the scale.

Classics Browning anybody?

but yeah that was a really fast knockoff.

He does look quite solid.

You think they'll start knocking off Jetfire, I'd love him in some dark colors. Or even Rodimus as the Lambo twins.
Sideswipe and Sunstreaker.

Heh, I want one for some reason. Hell, they even removed the molded Decepticon insignia!

with the exception of the red face, the knockoff almost has a better colour scheme than the original...

Still love my Classics Megs though, one of only two classics figures I have, and I think he rocks even with the wonky colours.

I have this theory that some (not all) of knock offs are "official". Official in the sense that Hasbro/TakaraTomy sells the mold or leases it to other companies. Or that it's part of the original deal with the factory. The factory has to initially use the mold to make Hasbro and TakaraTomy's products then after X amount of time passes, they can use the mold for these sub-par knock off toy lines. It just seems like this problem has gone on for way too long and that there would be a way to prevent this from happening IF Hasbro/TakaraTomy really wanted to prevent it.

Of course, bringing the factory work back home to the U.S. of A wouldn't be a bad start either to prevent this problem but I'm sure it wouldn't be cost effective and that we'd end up paying through the nose for the increases to the product prices.

Who did those recent G1 repaints of Classics Megs? I'm actually interested in buying one, or perhaps sending one to be repainted, cuz I have no skills.

I love it. This guy has a bunch of knockoffs for around $10 plus $10 shipping. I love the mini-Hotrod Targetmaster and the Sixshot toys. I hope they don't shut him down.

I just "Bought it now" - I'm calling this Megatron knockoff "Classic Megaplex".

Wouldn't it just totally rock if the guys making this classic knockoff recolor continued this with a blue recolor of Starscream?

That looks kinda neat.
Kinda how they might have painted it for a Galvatron repaint.
