I'm guessing it's not the same as Animated Lockdown, but is it basically the same idea, just with slightly less chin?

1 ) He's a lot shorter than Animated Lockdown, and more properly in scale with the average Deluxe.

2 ) Animated Lockdown really didn't have much chin - he had lots of neck instead. ROTF does too, but not as much.

3 ) ROTF is a bit more complex than Animated, and not quite as stylistically proportioned in either vehicle or robot mode, and I could actually see him being modded as "Classics Death's Head" :D

I'd like it more if it didn't keep falling apart every time I transform it.

Mine is solid as well. Also, he's not that much shorter than his animated counterpart.

Isn't he tall as a deluxe class? My arm joints are easily pop off during transformation but not a big issue for me. I tried to display him with my classics but I don't think he fit with the group well.

He is extremely tall for a deluxe. Even though he is shorter than the animated version, he is still tall in bot mode.

That's what I'm talking about, the joints in his arms pop off every time I transform it. It's one of my pet peeves.

I only have a pet rabbit and a pet rat. What are peeves like?

I haven't opened Lockdown yet so can you tell me what's so great about his kneck articulation JetOptimus23? You've got me really curious!

I think it has 2 points of articulation between where the neck attaches to the body and the head. Or maybe 3 points, I can't remember off the top of my head. Basically, it will move ANY way you want it to. Very nice touch on the figure.

The comment about peeves cracked me up. Nice one.

And you can extend his neck to make him even taller. Sort of like ROTF Mixmaster but not that turtle.

I bought this figure when I had some Thai Baht and I was literally in a situation of spend or lose. And even for what ended up as effectively a free figure I was pretty unimpressed.

I didn't really like the character of Lockdown in Transformers Animated; the hard-boiled bounty hunter is a terrible cliche and he didn't improve on it any, but I liked the toy, despite its massive bear-like feet and tiny arms. The smug face and exaggerated car mode really worked there.

I don't like the ROTF version at all. I do enjoy the cross-pollination from series to series (Animated Blackout is a charming if unexceptional figure) but to my mind ROTF Lockdown is a lanky, awkward mess with an unrealistic alt-mode (a death knell for a movieverse figure) and an awkward and asymmetrical transformation. He's neither one thing or the other. And he doesn't even have the token back story to back it up.

I don't hate the figure. He's just a mass of...nothing.

Mine lives with Classics, so that fixes the unrealistic complaint. I guess he's just not your thing though, I personally think he's awesome.

Yeah, what they said. Also, he has an awesome looking Hook weapon. Well, it's soft plastic, For Saftey Reasons.

Well, that would actually be dangerous, i guess.

You have head turning, lower neck, upper neck, and head. So yeah, high articulation.

I definitely think he is awesome. Animated and/or RoTF-both are great. I actually like the alt mode of the latter version a bunch; from about mid fender, the damn thing has a striking resemblance to a 71-73 Ford Mustang. Basically, it looks like a Mustang as driven by Mad Max. The alt mode for the animated version is just as good, but in that goofy, cartoon hot roddish sort of way.

The bottom line is that both versions are a total hit with me. :D

Hmmm... I may do this as well. I've got Bludgeon in there so why not?

Thanks for answering my question guys.

Hmm, I tried couple days ago to put him with classics but then still removed him from the group. Bludgeon is different and he fits perfectly. I may just try again since my classics Decepticons needs more reinforcement now.

I think he's a good fit for classics. Since he's made of parts he stole from other Transformers the skeletal/exposed parts look works in that context.

I don't like how he looks with the classics. I don't like how Bludgeon looks with the classics either. Some folks think it fits, but I have to respectfully disagree.

I hate the Animated Lockdown with a fiery passion (mine had super-duper floppy legs, and then the ball joints MELTED when I tried the superglue trick; his knee articulation made leg poseability crap anyway), but I love love love the RoTF version. The transformation is fun, the articulation is plentiful, the look is intriguing... he's just a great figure. I've only been collecting TFs since 2006, but he's probably in the top five (and certainly in the top ten) figures I own.

And if you extend the knees instead of leaving them all chicken like (which I tend to do), he's pretty much as tall as or slightly taller than Animated Lockdown.

Classics, Animated, on my desk with WfC Prime -- he lives wherever he can be closest to my heart at any given moment. :D
