Old Superion? Or A Really Bad Knockoff?

Well, for my birthday my friend gave me his dads old superion set 99% complete, only missing the little dude guns. What puzzled me about them was the quality of the plastic was bad, I mean it is 20 years old, but it shouldnt be this loose or beaten up. Also, there is no Autobot logo, sticker or factory applied logo. And there is no rubsign anywhere on any one of them. There are no paint on the faces and superions head is all... different. Here are some pictures, sorry about the quality i was in a rush and this was the only camera i had on hand.

That looks like a knock off to me. Never saw a superion that looks like that before and it looks cheap

with the descritpion ya gave and from the looks of that head i'm leaning towards a KO. Plus Silver bolt looks a little undersized and cheap.
You got em for free though so just roll with it. Get some stickers from Reprolabels and there ya go.
Later when you have the money. Just piece one together off ebay and use the spare parts i.e fists and feet form this one.

I planned on getting new gesalt bots and new stickers and just using the fists and feet. Might get a more accurate head. This guys is nice once combined, but almost all of them have a broken piece on said bot. This just worried about quality if i were to buy other gesalts like computron or menasor. If they all are like that or a little loose it feels like a wasted 100$ + for it. Thanks for the advice, athough i just remembered didnt old g1 toys (not diaclone or microchangers) have no rubsymbol?

Looks a lot like my sons KO set. The biggest giveaway is the gestalt head has tow eyes instead of the visor-shades look. My son had this one but the plastic is very soft and he wouldn't even play with it. It was the giftset in the Easter basket for like $8 at walmart. I had like 3 original superions, worn and all but they do have the autobot stickers applied because they were from the individual packs. I pieced three together and sold them because I don't collect G1 anymore.

K.O. Superions optics are big visor types not the small type.

Silverbolt's cockpit should also be gold not blue.

My superion is a little loose. My computron is air tight and yes they ALL should have rubsigns.
COMPUTRON is amazing and i suggest you work on getting him. Piece by piece or in one shot.
Getting these combiners piece by piece though lets you get the best you can find and allows you to descrimenate and be selective on quality so that you get what you want. Plus...half the fun is in the hunt :D
My Abominous i spent a little time on and got SUPER minty figures one at a time over a period of a few months. He's very tight and pristine!!
Just gotta hunt and do your research. Don't worry. The quality is still out there. Just be patient and smart and you;ll get a figure your proud of.
